Choosing a new pocket brick

Out of those 2 I really like the Chaves but the bearing pivot has kept me from buying one...

But my favorite brick overall is my Fatty Spanto XM18. It's got a .19" thick blade but only (lol) weighs about 6oz.

Crusader , ok I'll check them out too.

Wow, so many knives to choose from especially ones I haven't heard of before. I'm happy I started this thread.

What's the problem with a bearing pivot system ? I don't know much about these.

I was going to suggest Crusader Forge, but their availability is pretty limited and their prices are at the high end (or over) Wolverine's stated $ amount. But I have to agree with Ron--they immediately came to mind. I've looked over their offerings many times... there's a Metro model that fits what you are looking for. The Grayman Satu was another that was mentioned and was on my radar too. My problem is that when I'm down to drop that much money on a blade, it always goes to a fixed blade... typically Busse, sometimes a Randall.

So which pocket bring is in the running--have you narrowed things down... or did we make things worse!

If I was going to go overbuilt, I think i would check out Andrew Demko's knives (though I don't know how much they go for.)
I would love an AD10, and I am not really a big folder guy. It is just awesome.

This. And if you have too much cash to spend you could always go for one of the limited damasteel editions.
Just wondering though, why not get something that actually cuts?
This thread smells like troll bait.

How so? The guy has an idea of what he wants, and has a budget. Sounds to me like sour grapes on your part.

I'm at work so I can't investigate all these new offerings in detail quite yet but right now I'm still holding strong with the 228 or the Medford .

But I will definitely be checking out all of the mentioned knives tonight when I get home. So it's a knife research night for me and I love that.

:DWolverine, you're not backing out on the 228 I hope!:p

The 228 is at the top of the heap still.

But I am going to do some research tonight on these other brands that were mentioned in this thread so we shall see 😊

Sounds good--let us know how it goes!

The Buck / Strider 881 is smaller pocket brick.
And yes, to Crusader Forge.

Completely false claim. I'd call push cutting unsupported phone book paper pretty darned good. That's the original factory edge in this picture btw.

That's a pretty useless picture and argument. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but you're arguing that the Praetorian is good at slicing based on the ability shown in the picture. You're using the last 1/2" of the blade, where it's a normal thickness. Try doing that with the fat part of the blade, you know, the other NINETY FIVE PERCENT.

The Crusader Forge Metro is another big ol chunka metal!

So far the Grayman Satu looks great ! The Ti/Ti and Ti/CF tickle my fancy.

Crusader Forge knives also look awesome. But the ones I like don't seem to be in stock anywhere.

The research will continue ...

That one was ordered that way. You can get one without as well, with spyderhole or thumbstud.

They must be popular to have so many models sold out. I think it said the made to order time was something crazy long.
