Choosing a new pocket brick

Great choice for a pocket brick. Very interested in your thoughts and pics as it's definitely one I'm considering sometime down the road.

Thanks much. I looooooove it. Overbuilt is what scratches me right where I itch lately. And this fits the bill nicely. I'm just curious about the missing skeleton key logo on the blade.

The tolerances alone are amazing. Phenomenal build quality.

This may sound weird but if anyone wants to see my new 228 just send me a PM with your text or email and I will send you pictures because putting pictures on here with my iPad still baffles me .
Congrats!!!!

I haven't been active on BF for a long while, so I'm new to this whole world of "pocket bricks" and "overbuilt" folders.

I looked up some of the models people have referred to in this thread. But I'm a little puzzled. From what I've seen, a bunch of them seem to be constructed with a CRK-style titanium frame-lock on one side...and just a slab of G10 on the other. No liners, bolsters, or anything.

Can this be true? Seems to me a chunk of G10 wouldn't be all that strong if we're talking about an "overbuilt" knife, which presumably will see some batoning, prying, and other abuse. What's the point of making the blade out of inch-thick stock if it's held in place by a piece of plastic?

You should check out Cold Steel's testing videos featuring their linerless G-10 knives.

For all the Cold Steel marketing silliness, they sure show the strength of plain old G-10.

You should consider Cold Steel 4 Max. If that's too big for you, you can also consider the upcoming Cold Steel SR1. Both has 4.5mm+ blade. The SR1 is around 7oz so it's very light for its size and strength.

If you insist on framelock, maybe Strider AR/GB, Crusader Forge or Grayman Satu.

+1 Linerless G-10 can provide great lateral strength, provided it's thick enough. Check out the video below, Demko testing his Linerless Lawman by stepping on it in between 2 bricks. He said he weight about 220lb.
