Choosing what to carry

This is what I currently pick my fixed blades from. Normally, I put a box like this together every 3 months or so, but this one has to hold for ~ a year, until I get access to my other beauties.

I look forward to seeing the rest of your blades.

I always have knipex cobra on my belt. And either SAK Spartan or Compact in pocket. A locking folder comes standard too. Lately Spyderco mostly. But I was gifted a Buck 661 with personalized blade and it's getting its turns too. The assortment stays on my TV stand. Makes it easy to pick.

Let's keep the pics and discussion to traditional knives guys. Thanks!

Do you ever evenly lay them all out neatly ?
I used to keep my fixed blades on a shelf and would organize them neatly, but it wouldn't take long for them to just end up disheveled like this because it wasn't a very large shelf and keeping them neat required them to be placed just right.
I switched to a little 3 drawer night stand due to dust and tried to keep them neat but again they just wind up piled in there.

I'm in the middle of "The 30 Day Peanut Challenge" for the month of October. I'm rotating the 6 Case Peanuts I own in and out of my pocket for this month. The rest of the year its been any of my small traditional slip joints. Usually my Buck 309 or 303, with the occasional SAK depending on my expected plan for the day. I have an office job so really don't need much knife in the pocket for my daily life. I have way too many knives to pick from and I have been trying to pick a handful to keep and pass on the rest to friends or family. I am not a collector, I am a accumulator...I keep my carry knives in an old wooden cigar box on my dresser.

I have this 4-shelf cabinet that I keep much of my sharp stuff in. One shelf is all I have for the sheath knives, and they are 2 or 3 deep. I dig around once in a while just to remind myself what is there. I don't buy many new knives, which is probably a good thing.

I have a remote holder on my recliner that has a flat platform over the arm. Well mostly flat. I keep knives in there that are on my mind. Mostly so I can pick them up and look and fondle them. When I need to chose what I'm going to carry I normally just pick some out of that selection. Right now I have 5 Case barlows, a Case stockman and a Victorinox SAK and a Kershaw Blur. If I am going to have pants with a belt, I will select a larger knife from my regular knives in their regular storage. But normally it is one of my Buck 110's. Until I finally buy myself a 112. I've only been wanting one for 10 years or more. You can't rush into things. LOL But I always have a SAK and a smaller knife with me for normal tasks.

I just grab one of the three or four out on my desk. Right now that's a Buck 301, Case Small Texas Jack, a couple of SAKs, and a couple of modern folders. I don't really overthink it. I lost the "bug" a while back, now I am just a guy who uses cutting tools when I need one, and has way more than needed.
