chop-fest 08'....

Looks like a great time guys. I've been wanting to build one of those chopping benches for awhile now. The water bottle pics are great.
Scott

scott-- i wish we had one of your tuskers to do some chopping with...:D i think you would have ablast with one fo thes echopping benches too...

Man, those are awesome pics Mike!! I had the pleasure of meeting Ban at Blade Show. I'm really hoping to meet all those guys in those pics though. I'm jealous!!

andy-- ban had said he met you at BLADE... he's a great guy... i took a few of your knives with me, to show some folks... everyone loved the nessie...

now.. the next question.... to BUSSE or not to BUSSE...

What kind of Busse Mike? EDC or chopper? You probably already know this, but look into Scrap Yard knives, it's all part of the Busse family, but a lot more affordable. Keep coming to the meets and find out which ones you like.

Mike, start with a game warden. They can be found pretty reasonable if you look around on the exchange.

Look at the BUSSE company store website too, so if you want a bigger one yo dont have to play the over-inflated resale game. I have seen alot of good deals on the BUSSE exchange though.

i was pretty much thinking of the GW... that'll probably be the only one i can afford too...:o
i liked them even more, after seeing the blades that nate brought with him... he had a small fortune in that bag... i was amazed..

i also really liked the scrap yard dog father.. that thing was cool... especially after Ban had modded it...:D the thing was crazy sharp... as with all of the knives that Ban sharpens...

Great Photos ,looks like a blast. Pink don't worry that photo with the follow through after the water bottles made you look awesome!

That BT6 of bans' in 3V is a SUPER cool knife. I have lots of Bussekin knives but that is one of my most wanted knives right now.

If you want a nice sword to play with and chop things but don't want to spend 500$+
I would recommend the Cheness 9260 through hardened ketana or Wak.

I have one of their 9260 Katanas that came as a shirisaya(plain wood handle and scabbard) but was customized with a nice wrap. That was a money pit but just the shirasaya and the great blade were only 200$ and work quite well on their own

The steel is not infi but it is pretty decent Chinese tool steel with a good heat treat.
It has chopped up cement blocks.

Unsub, I think we talked about the Chness sword a while back over at SY and I completely forgot about it. After checking out their site for a while, I may pick up 9260 ko-katana (shorter blade and 2 hand grip) since it's most similar in size to the Busse AK. Hmmm...what to do?..
