Chop House Thick and Lean Cut

Definitely like all three new Scrapyard Dogs, but the Hogs and Rats and even the Dog I have on order are going to double my family, bringing the number to 12.
My wife and wallet would kill me, and thankfully I don't "need" any of these blades based on shape and possible uses.

In for the Dog Bag on this one. Think I'm going for the 3/16" all Muddy...and Jungle Green for the shinner...Damn I wish the last few I ordered had the Jungle Green option. I will be waiting on 7 Busse and Kin after tomorrow.

That's EXACTLY what i thought when i saw the "Chop house"... and also, "Wait, no, i just sprang for a Ratweiler and I've already invested in a bunch of S!K models and the Buck Froe is on clearance, and ... oh, man."

Then again, that tan Res-C is kinda ugly...

To tinfoil hat timmy, a kitchen blade? You'd need to cut the edge-thickness down quite a bit if history is predictive of what is to come...

To LadyEarth, while I don't see much difference in potential duties for 3/16 vs 1/4 inch thickness in a blade this size, the latter will be a good bit heavier in the blade for powering through a chop... my guess would be ~14oz vs 17oz but it'll feel like more due to the forward balance-point.

I have been looking at the froe. It is ugly, but looks like a top notch chopper

As for this scrap long muk, I like it not sure on which thickness yet. Looks like a very wide blade so geometry will be good in either thickness.

Those really look great,, but something is tugging at me telling me to wait for a 10"+ chopper.... am I wrong in this?
I know its roughly the same length as the 911,,, but much wider of a blade.. so almost like a BK9...
Crap, should this be my chopper??
Keep in mind, as much as I aspire to be a Hog,,, I'm a minimalist at heart,, so I like to keep it to:
1 small fixed: AMS
1 Medium fixed: INFIDU
Chopper: .....Had been saving this spot for an 1111,,
Axe: GFB SFA
Large folder: Benchmade 950
Small folder: Spyderco Dragonfly ZDP-189

Looks like I need to fill a void there....

Good to know! I thought the B8 would fill the role,, but as amazing as it was,, it just wasn't 'the one'
Luckily with this Operation Two Weeks,,, much like the weather,, if you don't like it.. wait a minute !

10"+ chopper? You didn't like the Battle Saw?

Looked very cool,, just not my thing.
Also looking for a res-c handle,,, if I have the money when a B10 or B11 pops up I'll grab one of those for sure,, otherwise I'll keep waiting for a 1111 to pop up and hope I have the funds at the moment. With two kids, you never really have any extra money,,,
Luckily, I'm in a position that I have all the knives I need,, so I can wait until I see something I really want.

Yeah I'm agonizing over the Chop House... :o
I've got several blades in this size range now, plus several Busse/'Kin on order already...
Decisions, decisions...

Gonna pass on this one. Want something bigger and don't like the only color option of tan res-c.

Like E/C, I have MANY Bussekin knives, but that didn't stop me from ordering the Chop-House special!:D:thumbup:

I don't know, you might find it a bit unwieldy. Also, you would have to be careful near power lines.

1. B11 is ideal for light weight and monstrous
2. 9 inch choppers are perfect
3. 10 inch choppers are perfect
4. Busse MOABOLO is perfect

To each their own. . . There will always be some rationale available to declare one knife length superior to another ;)
