we are not talking thickness thats not the problem , we are talking the impractical design of the blade and handle. the sharpened swedge on the back of the knife with the teeth is pointless and the jimping on the plam of the knife handle is the worst possible place for jimping to be

ok this is my khukuri / kopis its made by Dragon Forge on etsy.com . he offers the knife standard i just had him do a few things extra to make it unique to me. i didnt want some budk knife that's better suited for a video game, i wanted a practical design thats time tested since the days of alexander the great

This is pretty cool as well, i never knew that etsy.com had knife makers on it.

The posts so far have been awesome, lots of innovative and cool stuff! Keep 'em comin' :)

I love that sheath, John. I actually just ordered a few bags and what not off of there, gotta check to see what kind of knife related stuff there is!

As long as you like it, who cares what others like or dislike about it !!! I think it is an awesome blade.

As with many impractical things in our lives, they are only impractical until you actually need it. My 4x4 is a perfect example. Back in 2008, as gas was going up everyday, he (my neighbor) laughed & kept asking "how do you like it now ?" I said "just fine." Then in winter when we had 3' of standing snow & i drove right through it like nothing, i saw him stuck in his mini-van. I stopped & asked him "how do you like it now ?" Some things only shine brightly when SHTF so-to-speak. :D

I do a lot of batoning, so i would skip the top serrations myself, but thats just me. :D

I'm with you, I like a thick chopper myself, and I rather like the blade shape etc. I was more thinking about that the handle slabs are not flush with the tang and that gimping on the top of the handle would be a bit uncomfortable during bare handed use.

A few more pics of my baby

my favorite chopper :16.5"OAL ;0.453 thick ; 2.6lb weight

Hmm... Graham Razel SS7 meets CRK Pacific meets Busse? (trademark infringement, also on the Etsy blade *shrug*)

It's a LONG way from any Rambo knife design... not that that's a bad thing  It looks awesome except for the proud tang. Congrats!!

An old handmade chopper. .25 thick, made from a tractor leaf spring. It came with the house, hiding out in the barn. Made in 1947 by my neighbor. It chops very well for it's age.

trademark infringement on my knife? what because of the hole?
Yeah, the "talon hole" is a registered trademark of Busse Knives. They can sue makers for using it. I think that they ignore one-off's but American producers (and even custom makers on this forum) have been compelled to stop using it when Busse finds out about it. *shrug* So another reason to be proud of your custom knife - the maker could be sued if he makes another like it! ;) And anyway, it's the knife that matters, not the hole. Thank you for promoting small-time makers

hell I don't care, I didn't even know about the " talon hole" when I had that knife made nor am I a fan of busse and its related companies due to a insulting email I recived from them in regards to a question I had

I put that hole in there as a modern version of the notch in Nepalese khukuris

nor am I a fan of busse and its related companies due to a insulting email I recived from them in regards to a question I had

huh...i have emailed them on several occasions with what would probably be considered annoying questions and ive always received speedy, friendly and helpfull replies

I don't know woody I recived a snotty insulting email for just asking if a knife will be back in production soon
