I was checking out the handle contours in the third pic... that is some smooth work there. If it feels half as nice as it looks, it's probably the most comfortable chopper in the world!

Holy smokes! This is one of the, if not THE, best looking knife I've seen since...I don't know when?! Awesomely nice work.

Matt

Claudio's Compact chopper series barely touches the shelf and flew off like smoke. Ah....only if my bonus comes earlier.

Exceptionally nice, as always Claudio. There's always a sophistication to your designs, and the finish...hamon like glass, contoured handles, liners and sheaths, outstanding!!

That is super nice, I will have to put your knives on my wish list once I get moved!

Does the harmon remain even through sharpening? Please forgive my ignorance. I've never seen a harmon like that!!!

Matt

Hi Matt,
Not is Hammon, is San Mai, are three layers of steel, AISI 420 (inox) on the sides and 1095 in the middle. With use, the color black can lower intensity, remain gray.
Thank you,
Claudio

PD: I hope you understand what I try to say.

I understand you just fine. :-) I will take it.

Please confirm that that's okay and I'll send payment.

Matt

I was on Bladeforums looking for a $100 bushcraft style knife. I saw you knife and fell in love with it. I'm excited to see it in person. Thank you very much!

Matt

The knife has been SOLD.
Thank you very much to everyone for the compliments.

Enjoy it Matt!
Thanks again,
Claudio

Very Nice Claudio!

If I may since this is already sold.... Claudio does some amazing Laminated steel work (SanMai). He takes 2 pieces of Stainless Steel and puts 1 piece of Carbon steel between them and forge welds them (More complicated that that). When you grind the bevels in you take off the stainless steel and end up with a Carbon steel cutting edge. The carbon takes an etch and turns black the stainless stays bright. Only a few makers get results like this! Hamon's are created within the same steel on the entire blade.

When the blade gets used the oxides wear off and the Black will fade a little but you will always be able to see a difference between the two steel types.

Bravo !

I like how the lines of the blade flow nicely into the handle shape
Very different...different doesn't always seem to work for everybody, for mr.Claudio it seems to work every frickin' time.

Ryan,

Thanks for the info! I felt like a goon after I called it a hamon. I fell in love with it after the first look and figured I better learn about it before I buy. Found some cool info on San Mai vs Damascus vs Hamons. I simply can't wait to see this knife in person! Thanks again Ryan!
