Another dumb question, sorry.

On this image, the lanyard. I understand the purpose of the "loop" part, thanks to search engine, but I'm still not sure about the bigger part. Is it only so the knife can be taken out easily?

The lanyard fob is just an earring.. Just for looks is all...

It was made by Eric Issacson's daughter(Swamp Rat forum) and picked it up at Knob Creek...

She makes very nice Fobs

However,, you are correct,, on a smaller knife,, a Fob can aid in removing the knife from the sheath,,especially on a smaller knife that doesn't fit in your hand completely.
