I’ve tried all the blade shapes on the Inkosi, and I have chosen my favorite. They were all plain titanium scales, however. So, to those of you who have experience both with the plain titanium and the micarta inlays on the Large Inkosi…is it worth the extra $100?!

This may be a grass feels greener on the other side thing but I got the micarta version but I would have preferred the plain jane one, I love the bead blasted handles on CRK :)

Do you like the feeling of a single material or two materials when gripping your knife? The visual appeal? The good thing about those inlays is that they can be swapped if you got a little know-how, be it G10 other kinds of micarta, carbon fiber, wood, the choices are many....

I definitely like the micarta inlays on my 21s ... My Inkosi is a plain jane model, but I think I'd like an Inkosi with micarta inlays since they (the inlays) are the same style as the 21s. For me personally the micarta inlays do feel better in my hand and provides extra grip over a plain jane model. If I had to pick only one large and one small they would both be the micarta models.

I prefer the look of the inlays on the old 21s and Inkosi to the newer 31s, but thats just my appearance preference.

I can only speak for their G-carta material, this material is smooth yet does add some grip to its purchase. I can imagine any of the micarta would hold a huge advantage in wet conditions over the plain titanium frames.

I have a black micarta Sebenza and the micarta that CRK uses is slicker than any other I've encountered. It also soaks up the dirt and oil in my hands, which doesn't help. It's fine. It works. But I'm not at all sure it's better than a PJ. I do prefer the extra width for my huge paws though. And they look cool.

I love everything about the Inkosi and the scale shape. What I was hoping to accomplish if I order one with the inlays is enhanced grip and to give the handle slightly more width so I have a little more feel when I grip it.

So it’s slicker than other micarta, but is it grippier than the plain version?

Is bead blasted grippier than sand blasted?

I tried a large pj 21 first and didn't like it. The large micarta 21 was much better, but still didn't thrill me.
The micarta 25 and inkosi feel much better in hand (to me). I've since tried a pj inkosi...it's better than the pj 21; but the micarta is much better.
Yes, the micarta inlays are fairly polished, so they aren't particularly grippy when wet... they're also relatively thin. They do, however, stand proud of the titanium; and add to the grip accordingly.

Good to know, I can't remember which one is canvas type vs the linen or which of the two has more grip but makes me wonder if they purposely smooth out their inlays for comfort over ergonomics.

Well stated. You do good words.

I just picked up a Micarta 25 and just love the feel in hand. Was gonna wait till next Monday to pull it out of its box and put it into service but I’m thinking tomorrow it’s gonna go to work.

Is there a black linen micarta exclusive? (I am pretty clueless regarding who's doing what, in that regard.).
Im not sure as I don’t keep on on all that as well. Mine is OD from a CRK correction for the G-Carta run they did for knife center that has a failure of the G-Carta to warp and pull away.
