Chris Reeve Inlays - worth it?

Only non-inlay I own is a KA carbon fiber, mainly for the weight savings in office clothes. It’s nice but a bit slim for me. YMMV

I wound up getting both the Large Inkosi DP exclusive with red micarta and the same in Insingo but with natural micarta. I kept the Insingo. I like both the blade shape and the natural micarta better. I like how it’s wavy-grained, whereas the red was straight and tight. The natural has a lot more character and has a range of colors, from very dry and dusty to a rich and warm deep brown. I love it. I also love the way it feels to the touch.
The wavy micarta was better looking IMO as well. It would seem that most if not all of the newer knives get the straight micarta? FWIW they changed the standard blasted Ti texture about the same time. When the Glass Blast was announced, the normal blast became a little coarser. There is an undeniable utilitarian look and feel to a good worn PJ.

As far as inlays, I could go either way but mostly prefer the 21 inlays over the 31. I find myself carrying an inlay more often than not, unless it's a KA CF for the lighter feel and balance. Will there ever be a KA Zaan for the love of all things CRK?!?!

You need an Inkosi.

I prefer inlays. Mainly because I have bigger hands and long fingers. The extra little bit of thickness feels more secure in my hands. It's all subjective though. If you live anywhere near a shop that sells them, stop in and see if they have some you can get a feel for. I don't live too far from DLT Trading, so I'll take a ride out there from time to time and check stuff out in person. Only downside is it's real easy to fall in love with something you find and leave with a brutalized bank account. I think I walked out with a Rockstead my first time there.

I love the way those inlays are to the touch and, though I have shorter fingers, I have good sized palms and I do prefer the extra bit in the hand that the inlays provide. I also like how the tips of my fingers land on the edges of the two inlays. I can really grip onto that. I previously had a PJ and let it go because the handle left something to be desired as far as diameter goes. I did get a great grip on it and still appreciate the PJ very much, but I am only keeping one folder (and I may end up with a fixed blade that will fit in my pocket). I imagine the carbon fiber is the same size, at most, as the PJ titanium scale. I do think it's pretty, though I've passed it up at couple times lately. The price is not worth more than a PJ to me, but I think they are $665 or something pretty up there like that. I just don't see an extra $165 going into that personally. A shop would be so cool. I've called around and haven't found any models I'm interested in here in Florida. I'm stuck making calls, watching for emails, and placing bids.
