Chris Reeve Knives Nyala

I picked one up yesterday. So far it has just done a bunch of kitchen work, but it feels like a really well thought out design that should be an excellent general purpose knife. I noticed that some folks don't care for the sheath, but I like it. Normally I prefer a drop leg sheath, but this one rides low enough that the knife is accessible, but high enough that it isn't a nuisance when I am sitting.

Hi, can anybody tell me which knife is on the picture with the green beret and the nyala?

this tiny dagger thing?

thanks, j

There is not a whole lot to be said that hasn't been said already about this great blade. All I can add is my own personal real world experience. Obviously the knife is quite the looker! That's what drew me to it originally. I used a Nyala to skin a whitetail last year. I have nothing but positive remarks for its performance. The handle was very comfortable throughout the process and even with blood and moisture on it, it still provided a firm grip with zero hot spots. I used in without gloves btw. The blade shape was perfect for the cuts I needed to make and the edge was razor sharp when it was over. I used the Nyala to split the cartilage between the rib cage and it zipped right through with little effort. I stropped the blade afterwards but it wasn't really needed. Only complaint I had was the sheath and that has been addressed countless times. It doesn't re-sheath easily or without catching the leather, in my experience. Minor issue that is far outweigh by the countless positives about this knife. Sadly, I have let go of mine over the years but feel I will once again have one in my arsenal very soon!

The push knife? No idea who's design that is..

Are you really Chris Reeve or did you just choose the name as a moniker?

Your thanks indicates otherwise..
