Chris Reeve Magnacut timeline?

I just completed my CRK collection and it all happens to be in S45VN, (Umnumzaan drop point; large plain Inkosi tanto; small plain inkosi insigno; large macassar inlay Sebenza drop point; small bog oak inlay sabenza damascus drop point; and a burl oak mnandi in damascus). I wouldn’t mind getting a large black micarta inlay Sebenza or Inkosi with a magnacut insigno blade, but have a feeling they are going to be really hard to come by for a long time. The wait list on CRK website is like 4 to 6 years. I only have A Medford praetorian T in magnacut but that’s not a user for me.

It will be interesting to watch people’s impressions form as more Magnacut versions come into their possession. Seems like a miracle steel.

Could always pay the dickhead scalper prices with their 70% markup on fleabay.
I would never ever ever buy a knife on eBay, they do not do anything about counterfeit sellers and especially after the COVID TP scalpers and all of that nonsense, I wrote eBay off for me permanently. I'm thankful for this forum where I have bought several knives that were hard to find at very fair prices IMO.

I so far really like the insingo blade the best out of the three. Which is not what I expected. I thought I'd like the drop point the best. Regardless, can't go wrong with any of their blade shapes, they are all amazing. All mine are in s45vn which is fine. Although magnacut does seem to be a far better steel in every category.

I agree with you. I have really been liking the insingo blade a lot. Very functional. I just got my magnacut insingo the other day. I haven't had an opportunity to really use it yet. I will say that it is extremely sharp (factory edge). Probably one of the sharpest edges I have received from CRK. I am interested to use it and see how the steel responds on a strop.

I agree that generally the Bay is a den of vipers, however as I mentioned earlier in another thread a legimate seller can be found. I recently purchased a LNIB small 31 in magnacut tanto with Macassar ebony inlays listed as buy it now for $495; got it for $475 and it's a gem - truly indistinguishable from brand new (total package, docs, etc.). Bargains are rare, but worth scouring at least once a day. It has the typical CRK edge and I've got it on my WE sharpener now working through my normal progression of stones. It appears no more difficult to sharpen than S35.

I got that very same model CRK in August from GPKnives for about that price. Very nice knife.

Agreed with sharpness. I have the large and small inkosi with the insingo blade. The small was used but the large was brand new and definitely the sharpest new knife I’ve ever experienced and that’s saying a lot.

Cut right and throw left? (Nice knife, bro).
Thanks, CRK did a really good job on this one.

Haaa yes I am all messed up. I carry my knives in my right front pocket. Open with right hand then transfer to my left to cut. Reverse procedure to close and get it back in my pocket.
You don't want to see me try and throw a baseball right handed 😂

Has there been a large sebenza 31 insigno in Magnacut yet?
Just to add another data point:
