I'm finally starting to understand the sentiment, for real, but my dilemma is a exponentially more than tenfold yours if you count my non-CRK knives too
My bigger problem is I'm close to being a certifiable packrat (a couple of levels below hoarder). When I grab something I don't use to get rid of it, I realize why I got it and then don't want to let it go (e.g. but this is the only one in this color, or this steel, or this blade shape, blah blah...)
As far as CRK goes, I only have duplicates of my small Sebenzas, but they are in different blade shapes, steels, or colors etc.
I have 1 Umnumzaan (S45VN user) and 1 Mnandi (S45VN safe queen), plus 1 small Inkosi (S35VN user) and 1 Large Inkosi (S45VN LNIB). The small used S35VN Insingkosi celebrates the same birthday as my son, so it stays. One of the small S31 DOB is on my daughter's birthday, and one on my mother's. I did let both of my large S31 go, as the Umnumzaan replaced them.
But I have five small Sebenza 31 and I have only been comfortable carrying my small PJ Sebenza S45VN so far. One is an S45VN natural micarta that got lost in the back of my safe (thought was gone), and another in Damascus with natural micarta (safe queen), while the other 2 are Magnacut Tanto ebony and Magnacut Insingo black micarta (also in safe).
I just don't know which is likely to become the next user, as 4 of them are unused. So I keep going back to the only one that's been used already, and then I don't have to decide which one to mess up or give up.
I'd still like a large Insingo S31 In Magnacut, and a large Inkosingo in Magnacut. But that would add to my decision problems regarding carrying them vs selling the older ones. So, I've put off the purchase so I don't have to decide which will be a user, and how often I will be able to put them into rotation.
I seriously need to give up and sell about 100+ knives that I wont carry but aren't "safe-worthy", to make room for the new ones that interest me more.
