This is my second Christmas season as a Bladeforum member, so I have decided to do another "Christmas Eve Gift" give away. Not sure if you know what the "Christmas Eve Gift" tradition is, nor indeed, if there is such a tradition outside of my immediate family. The winner will be announced on the morning of the 18th of December.
The "Christmas Eve Gift" is a knife of a traditional pattern, which I have already chosen, but will not divulge. The give away will run through midnight Saturday December 17, 2011. To be eligible for this give away, you must have posted in this subforum 2 or more times in the last 288 hours (12 days) preceeding this post. Qualifying posts are posts other than "I'm in" on traditional give aways.
Read this carefully. If you enter this give away and are qualified, you will need to check to see if you are a winner Sunday morning and send me your mailing information so that I will have a chance of getting it to you on or before the 24th. You folks that are not in the USA, can still enter, but I cannot ship anywhere the USPS will not deliver and I can't guarantee that it will arrive before 12/24/2011. Indeed I cannot guarantee that it will arrive at all, but you are welcome to enter.
This is my way of saying Merry Christmas my forum friends here in "Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades".
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas this year. Jesus is the reason for the season; don't leave Him out.
It would be appreciated, but not required, that the winner post a picture here of the "Christmas Eve Gift" when it is received.

Our family "Christmas Eve Gift" tradition is that when you saw a family member for the first time on Christmas eve and spoke to them the words "Christmas Eve Gift" the targeted family member would have to provide you a gift on Christmas eve. Of course, this fails into the category of get me once, shame on you; get me twice, shame on me. So, you had to slip up on an unsuspecting family member to make this work. It was quite fun and some nice gifts were had and some "doggy" ones as well. But this is the inspiration for this giveaway and a way to honor the family tradition. Before you get any ideas, "Christmas Eve Gift" only works for family members not forum members.
And, of course there were lots of "ties" with both parties speaking in unison; and ambushes too where two or more family members would lie in wait for an unsuspecting family member to walk in. Kind of like a "surprise party". One had to suspect that "white elephant" gifts were gaining popularity.
Last year a thoughtful forum member offered to send me some midwest winter, but giving midwest (or other winter) to me is not what this is about.
Edited to change title so that folks browsing the forum will know this is a give away. Not quite two days left before it ends.
Edited to show winner. Winner was chosen by using the random number widget by random.org using the post numbers to choose the winner.
Thanks to all that entered this give away. Merry Christmas to all Bladeforum members!!

I don't know how the Christmas Eve gift works for your family but growing up it became a tradition for my sister and I to argue with our mom over whether we had ever gotten to open up a present Christmas Eve night. We always did but my mom loved to annoy us. I spent my first Christmas away from my family last year and had to call her so we could still have the debate. Thanks for the chance. I'm in.
