Not an entry, but:

Favorite movie: A Christmas Story. Best scenes: the Peking duck at the Chinese restaurant, when the mother is desperately trying to stifle her laughter; and when the mother & father are enjoying a quiet moment together, looking out the living room window at night, watching the snow fall.

Favorite song: Silent Night. So peaceful, a reminder of times long ago (how things mellow out with the passage of time).

Great Giveaway! My favorite Christmas song is "O Holy Night" performed by John Berry.

Long Kiss Goodnight was a great movie, and I think would be even if one weren't besotted with Geena Davis.
But Christmas movie as in movie concerning Christmas, The Bishop's Wife. Cary Grant as an angel, David Niven as the bishop, and it's pretty unusual for me to remember the actors' but not the actress's name.

Favorite Christmas Carol, I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In, for its rousingness, but I wonder if Herp Alpert's Tijuana Christmas is still lying around here somewhere.

Scrooged was great, but I have it memorized and I turn it off when Carol Kane hands him off.
The Alistair Sim as Scrooge Christmas Carol has Patrick Macnee as the other clerk in Scrooge's job at Fezziwick's. He's already doing that curious shimmy he was still doing in the Avengers, possibly a relic of the old stage days when an actor would stamp his foot so you'd be looking his way when he started his line.
Then there's the Leo G Carrol as Marley Christmas Carol. I get the two B&W versions confused.

So I guess I'm in. Thanks for the chance.

I have a picture of lambsfoots in a sleigh, but I can't find it.

Ah yes, how could I forget that movie. That was a good one.

With the bonus wisdom of Mitch Henessey! :D ;)

"Holiday Inn" is the name of the movie that featured the song "White Christmas" :D

My favorite move is "Christmas in Connecticut" (the original), my favorite Christmas song is "(There's No Place Like) Home for the Holidays" by Karen Carpenter.

I'm in!thanks for the giveaway! The holiday season is my favorite times of the year!

First, my favorite song is hard to pick. I like a lot of the older stuff. My grandma would always have Bing Crosby or Dean Martin Christmas music playing during Christmas day or eve. I'm gonna go with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer sung by Dean Martin.

Second, my favorite movie is hands down Christmas Vacation!

A TC Barlow that I regretfully sold last year.

Great theme for this years GAW, Randy!

I enjoy both Christmas movies and Christmas music, so long as I'm watching/listening to them after Thanksgiving. :D I've even gotten in the habit of making a list of the Christmas movies I like, and then checking them off as I watch them throughout December.

Picking favorites is difficult, though. The movies at the top of my list are National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Die Hard, Home Alone, Scrooged... I could go on for a while, haha. I also enjoy watching Christmas movies that are actually quite bad, so much so that they're enjoyable. Ernest Saves Christmas and Jingle All the Way come to mind. :D

For TV shows, I've always enjoyed the Christmas episodes of The Office, and for non-Christmas holidays, you can't beat Seinfeld... "A Festivus for the Rest of Us!" We even put up a Festivus pole every year. :D

My favorite Christmas song is probably "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". A couple unconventional favorites are "White Wine in the Sun" by Tim Minchin, and the album Jingle All the Way by Béla Fleck and the Flecktones (because I've always thought the one thing missing from the song "Jingle Bells" was Tuvan throat singing.)

Something that's become a bit of a tradition at our house over the last few years is watching this 40-song Christmas medley by the Brett Domino Trio. It's a bit silly, but also quite impressive and (I think) enjoyable.

Finally, here's a sort of Christmas-y photo I took a few years ago. Merry Christmas and Good Luck to everyone!

Say, Randy, that photo of the Unicorn Reindeer Ivory Acrylic #25 looks awfully familiar... ;) :D

Great giveaway and Merry Christmas. Christmas gives us all a chance to share with friends and family and to remember the excitement of being a child. My favorite Christmas movie is Christmas Vacation and Christmas song is The Spirit of Christmas by Ray Charles. I usually drop a few knife hints if my wife ask. Several years ago she never mentioned a knife so this JK was a total surprise.

Most any movie with Barbara Stanwyck is good in my book!

"Remember the Night" & "Double Indemnity" both with Fred MacMurray

"Christmas in Connecticut" is an Outstanding movie!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

She was such a versatile actor, excelling at both comedic and dramatic roles. Although I preferred her in comedies, "Remember the Night" is one of my favorites.

"Holiday Inn", with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, did feature the song "White Christmas", but so did "White Christmas", with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Both great films.

Prester John Prester John i think most associate "White Christmas" with the movie of the same name. I thought "Holiday Inn" was the better movie of the two, I love vintage films.
I agree as to which movie is better. Love all of Bing's films. The two Fr O'Malley ones and the Road films with Bob Hope especially. If Sinatra had not come along, Crosby would have been the 20th century's greatest popular singer, in my opinion.

Favorite Christmas Movie - Christmas Vacation

Favorite Christmas Song - Fairytale of New York by the Pogues
