Christmas Gift Exchange?

I received my package from the "cornfields", and will open it tomorrow. Thanks mqqn.

Here's mine -- Glennbad did a glorious job of rebuilding it including adding new jigged bone scales.
This is my first knife with a spiral shank awl.

I opened up my package from Wade this morning - wow, it was like Christmas! lol -

Wade really hooked me up - and inside the package was a bunch of wrapped gifts, and a note saying don't open the letter in the bottom until you have all of the packages opened.

Inside he included a small "on the go" nylon wallet, two nice Keep2go waterproof tubes, some Rem-oil wipes (someone must have told him I clean a LOT of guns :D ), some Omivore Salt which I can't wait to try out on some taters later today - it is salt with organic spices included. Yum! Finally, as if that was not plenty for this old man, there were two knives and a sheath included! The first knife was forged by a Bladeforums member "Forged in Time" (maybe forgedoutoftime?) and then was hafted by "woodman" of the ramanon forum.

It has a nice big handle of oak that you can really get your mitt on!

Finally, a second knife forged by David Farmer also from the Ramanon forum and also here some I believe, with a resin impregnated cord-wrap handle treatment. The sheath that comes with it is nicely made and the knife is designed to be carried on a keychain or carabiner.

Than you, Wade, I really was excited to open and very happy with all the items you included, you really did well for me and I am VERY appreciative of your fine gifts.

I am also appreciative of being allowed to be part of this group we call the JK Supporters; I have met some of the finest people that are in my life through knowing John and enjoying his company and the company of my friends here.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

best

I don't know how to post pics, or if I even can with the basic membership, but I wanted to say thank you very much to my santa. I got a nice little flashlight that will probably end up mounted on an AR, a cool little multitool, a fire rod, a cool little Browning neck knife and a really nice JK knife with a sheath. I'm not sure what model the JK is, but it's in a pocket carry type sheath. Thanks again for the gifts. Merry Christmas. Brad.

Thank you, William! (Please let us know your screen name!) I am so very pleased with the gifts.

Limited edition JK BBQ set (knife and fork) - the knife is the perfect size for steaks for me and I can use the fork to pin down Autumn's until she gets it to comply.

Also a really nice Streamlight flashlight (the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the cold...)

Also some Gulp Powerbait for me to tempt "the big one" with.

Thank you, William. I am honored to receive these gifts.

Merry Christmas one and all. May you all enjoy a peaceful and quiet day with those you hold dear. God's blessings on each and everyone of you and your families - wherever you and they may be.

Thanks for hosting us all here, John. I hope 2015 is very prosperous for you.

Opened my gift this morning, a red bone Case stockman. Thanks again to mqqn.

Bradass80, that little knife is a JK/kyenglish collaboration. JK made the knife and kyenglish did the handle and sheath. I believe it was called the "Pocket King".

sorry. late to post pics. busy last couple of days. i received some very nice gifts, thank you bradass80! the headlamp is going to be my night fishing/camping companion. thank you. :)

Lots of excellent goodies in my package. Thank you, Peter!

Glad you like 'em glennbad, the peanut was basically a gift from Myke, but I wasn't carrying it and thought it might be put to better use by another JK friend, I thought he'd be okay with that

I just wanted to say thanks again to John and all of my friends here on the JK forum. I hope 2015 is a great year for everyone!

I am going to bump this back up -

Wade - I have been using the salt you sent me - I have used it on eggs, steak, and most recently I used it in my spaghetti sauce that I made for new years eve; it is good stuff!

I put the salt in an empty container from my spice cabinet, and pasted the Ominvore logo on the bottle - very cool! It sits on the counter next to my knife block. ;^)

I also have taken some pictures of the knives - I will post on Ramanon to see if anyone recognizes the wood-handled knife, which I have been using in the kitchen because the handle is so cool - just feels great.

Thanks again!

Derek - I chose the pocket worn red bone for a couple of reasons - Red, you are a firefighter, and the pocketworn has a special meaning to me, as it was the covers I chose for the knife I bought for my late step-father's knife, which has a long story for me and my family. Finally, in last years exchange, I received a red bone pocketworn mini-toothpick and that knife has become my coffee-table, fidget with knife that is next to me while I am relaxing in the living room. (I still don't know who it was that sent me that toothpick, but know that I love that little knife and appreciate the gift!) I thought you might enjoy the larger traditional for all around use.

best regards

it's a 1084 & micarta "Utility EDC" made by JW Bensinger out of Vermont.
proportions look odd, but it's comfy in hand and the Hamon is cool

Sorry, no picture yet, but I got an inadvertent birthday present from William today. He found the bottle opener to the BBQ set that John made years ago and sent it on to me. I got the knife and fork in the Christmas exchange. Thanks, William!

I was surprised when I found it. I knew one of my guest had used it one time too many and tossed it away with the bottle cap. Glad the set is complete and Happy Birthday.
