Just wondering if anyone has been thinking about doing another one this year. I enjoyed doing it last year and was hoping we could do it again. I do remember that there were a few of us late with the exchange knives so I thought I would mention it a little earlier in the year. You can't get started to early I have been told. Is anyone interested in doing again and if so anyone got any ideas on a theme?

Christmas in July for JT's recipient? By the way, when does that thing come off?

If there is another one I want in. Hopefully my knives will have improved by then.

Apparently there were a lot of minor issues with last year's exchange that ended up being a big pain. If there's one this year, I'm probably in, but I refuse to commit to that until I have a suitable knife ready to ship. That's just me.

thats how i think it should go, is if you want to do it then you make a knife and if you get it done by say December 1st or so then your on the list if not then you are not on the list.

I am going to start working on mine very shortly. I dig the only enter if you already have a finished knife bit. Hopefully I can draw Mr Patton or Mr Bump, that would ROCK!!!!! I could use a knife that shoots minie balls!!

Sounds good! We'll wait on Scott's word, and get started in the mean time I hope I draw a Matt Bailey,Jason Smith (Silveray), Phillip Patton, too many to list. I'll be happy with what ever but yea...

I'm just hoping I'll be comfortable with giving my knives to forumites by Christmas :foot:

Sorry for not being here lately. I've been really busy and stressed lately. My company has reorganized and within the last 10 days has let go 7,000 employees. My work load has increased, do to the reduction in manpower and the economy. In this kind of economy our customers are looking for ways to reduce their costs, which means Service Engineering (my group) is just swamped with customer requests. I've been on the road for 5 straight work weeks, and will be on the road for at least 3 more. I'm getting home on weekends, for the most part, but will be working a few weekends in the coming month.

As far as running this thing again, it really stressed me last year, because I felt like a babysitter. I am really doubting that I'll be willing to run it for this next Christmas. I'll be glad to join in though, if someone else volunteers to run it, and make a knife for one of my knifemaking friends.

I am reading between Santas lines and he is talking about the people that said they would make a knife and never delivered. If we do it again this year there has to be deadline before Dec 25th so we dont have anymore dissapointed kids. Or it is just a big commitment and allot of work, one or the other?

I like the idea of not entering unless you have a knife ready. If I can get my new grinder operating and no major problems with anything else, I would try to get a knife ready for it.

I'm interested in joining.
I also like the idea of having the knife ready december first to be able to be in.

It will be my first time.
Are there any restrictions or do I just make a good knife to my liking with the materials I feel comfortable working with?
Is it to be a knife including a sheeth?
