Christmas Knives, Please Give Me Feedback!

I know you have been working really hard on these Nic. You are doing great and these look like very useful and comfortable knives. You have a lot to be proud about. Whoever gets these as gifts will be well pleased.

Awesome job on the knives! FWIW Flitz paste will get rid of the patina (if you don't like it). Maybe you already know this but Nick Wheeler has a great series of Youtube videos. His system of dialing in plunges by hand has really helped me.

Thank you Marc, that means a lot.

Thank you! Huh, ok, does it remove the makers mark too though? Is that a hardware store item? Nicks videos are great!!

Nic I buy my mild steel from lowes or home depot usually. I don't have a junk yard easily accessible or I'd try to get it there even cheaper.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about. You can see in the bottom that the grind line couldn't follow the recurve because the belt was too wide for the knife. But eventually you can see where I split the belt to 1" and it allowed me to follow the line.

This is the finished knife. She is working on the sheath now. Its AEBL and is just over 5.5" OAL. I'm really proud of her because she has never worked with any of this and she hand finished every piece. I only did the heat treat and the bevel grind outside giving some instruction. I am definitely trying to get her to make more :)

I etch and mark my maker's mark with a "Personalizer Plus" unit and Flitz hasn't removed any of my marks. It's available on Amazon.com
