Well folks, my daughter bought me one knife, it arrived in not so good of condition, a beefy fixed blade that was ground poorly, sadly had to get her to return it, instead she ordered me this nice Case Sowbelly, from a hint from me of course ;) and it was handed over to me today from her. Very beautiful knife, model 07015 in CV it's fit and finish is just about perfect, blades arrived soso sharp but that's to be expected and wasn't a problem to overcome. I know some would prefer they arrived razor sharp but often you end up putting the style/bevel angles that you want anyways so not a big deal in the end.

Here's a couple quick shots taken tonight;

and this one, kinda scared me to get setup, afraid at any moment one of those blades would snap shut as I was opening an adjacent blade, which would cause quite a mess ! But it worked out ok, no blood loss...

and the New Years resolution? I decided to give this a try, for the next 12 months I'll cycle just one knife in my pocket for each month. I'm down to a few knives so later in the year I'll draw it out again at some point. But for every day each month, just ONE knife. Now for me, that's epic if I can pull it off, I usually have several on me at any one time, but I want to give this a try. That even goes for my Swiss Army knives, even those are considered more like tools than knives, I want to restrict my pockets to just one folder. We'll see how this plays out :)

So for the month of Jan, it'll be this nice Sowbelly, I will probably make a vertical sheath for it sometime but for now it'll ride in my watch pocket.

Wish me luck guys and gals !

That is a beauty!
Great pic as well.
Good luck on the rotation.

Beautiful gift, knife and photography. You should be a photographer for case marketing because after seeing that beauty, I want one. :D

Beautiful knife, Gary!

Good luck in your quest, I hope you can do it. I know I couldn't.

awesome... I also gave a sowbelly as a gift this year to my best buddy in town! Great blade!

Gary we are going to need independent verification that you are keeping to your resolution .
As we all know you buy and sell in one month more knives than the rest of us do combined :)
I think you should at least allow yourself to carry a SAK , Multitool , one hand opening lock folder and a small fixed blade as well as your chosen monthly knife .

Ken

PS - I just re-read your post and I think you might be using language that even a lawyer would be proud of . You say only one knife in your pocket , but no mention is made about the huge " Man Bag " you will probably now carry around with you :)

Excellent Gary.
Here's my Chestnut Sowbelly, though your photos are miles ahead of mine in quality. Mine came to me as a birthday gift in December. I agree with you on getting the willies when opening multiple blades. I've cut myself doing that before.

I agree with all your comments on the fit and finish. Mine is very well done and has been a pleasure to carry every day during the two weeks I've been off work. (But back to work tomorrow and work regulations forbid me from carrying a knife that big.) Got to use it for a couple of things and have been very pleased with it.

You must have a large watch pocket. Mine are too small to hold the sowbelly. But it does ride very comfy in the RFP.

Nice shot Frank and yes, it's scary trying to setup some shots of multiple blades! :)

And Ken, boy you can read right through me eh? I'm transparent and you got me, in my kit I take to work will be TWO Swiss Army knives and a Swiss Tool, as folks do come to my desk often for help and those have aided many in trouble. BUT as for actual on my person...carrying...if caught and asked to empty my pockets kind of deal, they would only find just that ONE for the month. ;)

IT WILL be hard to do so, I just put my other knives to rest and they all gave me a forlorn look, of course this may all go bust come Tuesday :) but I will try to persevere as best I can.

Edited to add...it's a Satchel ! :)

ONE KNIFE PER DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek: That's torture lol :D:D:D:D:D I could never do that, but its cool if you can pull it off

Nice Sowbelly Gary, and a great shot as usual. Sorry to hear about the bad experience with the knife your daughter originally gifted you, hate it when that happens. Good luck with your resolution, and it'll be interesting to see what you carry

No photos right now, but I have made good use of my Case Sowbelly stockman, mine is Pocket Worn Harvest Orange. Deceiving knife, in that I thought it was a bit small, but actually found the blades to be quite hefty.

Nice sowbelly Gary. It's understandable that our loved ones don't always choose the right knife as a gift for us, it takes us a long time to refine our tastes, how could they always get it right? You gotta love 'em for trying.
I've settled in on the idea of carrying the same knife for at least a few days before switching, it seems to work well that way for me. I must admit I've been thinking about carrying several with me in something just in case a knife conversation breaks out!

I love the handle shape and the main blade shape of the Case sowbelly pattern. My two sowbellys are single blade for that reason. The main blade shape is aesthetically perfect in my opinion.

I've never been a big fan of the sowbelly pattern, but then again I don't remember seeing many that looked that good. I may get converted. Very nice looking knife.
