Well, you guys ARE a bad influence...of course, what else should I expect :) today went pretty well, but, there's always a but right? :) I did bring my Opinel #10 Slim and a flipper modern knife, BUT they were in my jacket pocket ;) and not my pants pocket, I think I'm fading fast guys, but hey, I gave it a try right!

It WAS a neat idea, but like most New Years Resolutions, they to will pass...

Gary your an inspiration! I got two knives for my birthday last week. I'm Going to do just like you and carry these two for a month.

I am not as stout as you since I'm carrying two, I've gotten in the habit of having a beater in my right front pocket and something precious in the watch pocket. Hopefully your still in this foxhole with me?!
Respectfully, Chance.

Those are two nice ones there!

And I TRIED to be good, but did end up bring along a ZT0770cf as well as that Sowbelly, but in point of fact, all cutting chores were done with the Sowbelly so technically I slid but also I stayed true to using one knife so far, it's tough!

Not to worry, Gary. I've got your back on this one. I got my Case Chestnut bone CV Sowbelly in mid-December for my birthday. I've carried it everyday since. Been a bit over a month now.(Note: Can't carry it during working hours, because it does not meet work regulations on max pocket knife size. But on work days I have carried it at home after work.)

Thanks you guys! I'm going to really try on this one, thanks you for keeping me honest.
Chance.

It is a worthwhile endeavor :) and nice one Frank !

That is a very nice Case knife!

I am the abnormal person here since I don't really collect knives, at least not the same way many here seem to do. I have had the same GEC knife in my pocket for close to 8-9 months now with no desire to swap it out for something else. I have found a knife that I really like and to be honest it will probably take a custom to displace this GEC.

The idea of just going around with the same knife month after month doesn't seem to be such a big deal.

I DID say that I was an abnormal!!!!!!!!

Thanks and yes, I'm enjoying it immensely ! I was also recently given a really nice Mel Pardue lock back, I'll get some photos of that and start a thread separate for that one, as it's a beaut too, a little larger than this one but very nice!

While things may have drifted, it's funny that while I may have clipped a knife to my pocket...just because, I find that I still take the Case out to do any cutting that I need, so, in essence I'm really carrying/using just the one knife and have to say it's been a joy to use, very satisfying in fact. I'm still pressing myself to use the spey blade more to just get use to using that as that is one that comes out and a severe angle. Very tempted to convert that to a pen blade as that seems like it would be the more useful of the two styles, to me at least.

The main blade does most of the chores, but like I say, I am making myself use the spey when I need to cut stuff too.

Where is the nail nick on the Spey blade positioned ?
Its position would determine how much alteration you could do .
I suspect it wouldn't be possible , but a really fine pointy Wharncliff type blade , to do super fine work ( like what is on your Tina ) would be a great addition to the other two .

I most likely will leave it be, here you can see the blade profile and nail nick position;

I just brought my daughters' pup in from doing her business outside, cold outside :) and we give her a treat when we bring her back in. So I used the spey blade to slice up her almost like beef jerky, the angle of the blade worked very well in that application ;)
