Chuck Buck Signed 301 Cadet

From what I have seen, they're usually so small you don't even see them with the arrow pointing them out. I think someone sneezed when 73's came thru the production line?
BuckShack your's looks fine...

I have the same knife in the box with no shield. Manufacture date 2/4/10. The end panel has this number
0301CWS-B. Does the B mean that it is a blemish? Never noticed the shield missing until this thread. There is nothing else on the box that would identify it as a blemish.

The -B on your box states that it is in a box not a clam PAC. I'll have a look in the morning I think I have a Blem marked box to shoot a photo for all to see. I like these without the blue shield if I can find one I'll add it to the pile.

Missionary knife? I learn something new on this site every time I check in. I was unaware that Chuck Buck gave away knives to missionaries. How great is that!!?

How nice, now that verpil is permanently banned we can get on to talking about Buck knives and products...Glory Be...

I purchased one from an on line reseller in the PNW, he razorbladed off the corner of the label where 'Factory Blem' was printed. I went over that knife with a fine tooth comb and can find nothing wrong except a little roughness in the fuller. I was upset about the deceit but got over it since it was a nice knife at a cheaper price.

I'm with you on that. Usually, the so-called blem is not even noticeable. I think they send back the obvious ones?
You're a Gold member you can say ebay...

Here is a photo of a factory blem box

here is a couple more factory blem box labels---even with the arrow on the knife I usually can not find the blem--good they are that picky at times right....as for the markings on the box--must be to do with inventory control...maybe jeff can tell us--cuz I don't know why....seems like most all the blem boxes are that way now....DSC06506.JPG

Thanks JB and Dogpound the box I have does not have anything like that on it. I guess the mystery will continue as to why these don't have a shield.

Just to deepen the mystery, I went through my knife collection and I have 2 more Chairman Series without the shield.
Model 303 Manf Date 10/17/09
Model 302 Prototype Manf Date 8\25\10 Model #0301B02-B

The only Chairman series I have with a shield is a 2016 303 with the Icthus? shield.
Now I need to be looking for ones with a shield. (It never ends) LOL

that is like the 50th anniversary 110 knife---I got a pile of them and started going through the boxes and it seemed each one I opened was different---different versions???? don't know what happens at the factory....same boxes--same labels different knives???

I have a USA made Schrade heritage LB7 with maroon scales. Same thing. Most I have seen have a shield, mine doesn't It came in the box and no marks on the knife or box to indicate a factory second. The knife is perfectly made tho'

They used to mark the blade with an FB. I got a 113 blem in 2010 and I believe the decided to stop marking them shortly thereafter.
YES THEY Etched a small fb on the blade ---and yes I think you are right it was 2011 they quit etching fb --it was ugly--glad they did...I will try to find out when they quit etching the blade fb....
