Chuck, CJ, or Joe . . . what happened with Strider?

Thanks Paul, there's always multiple sides to a story and it's hard to ensure that all sides are given equal time in this kind of medium or for that matter any kind of medium.

I value your opinion and I agree with you, personal attacks don't belong on these forums.

BTW, please keep doing what you're doing.....you're one of my idles :D
Mike

Thank you for the insight Paul! You're a legend of sorts around here. :)

Spelling.........heh.....don't even worry about it. That's not what matters. ;)

God Bless!

Joe-Dirt- Mick is very active on two other forums, but I don't think I can post them here. Google him and it shouldn't be hard to find!

Mr. Bos,
I can appreciate your defense of Mr. Strider since he is your friend.
But Mr. Strider's own attitude here on Bladeforums has earned him a bad reputation in my eyes.
I certainly will never buy a Strider knife and I will not recommend them to any of my friends either.

Allen.

Allan: That is your right, If there is a product you dont like you dont have to by it. Mick may have said things that are not right, sometimes we say things in anger that we dont realy mean and we wish latter we could take them back but its to late we already said them. I hate to think what I would have said to the people that drug my name through the dirt if at that time I had a computer. Please try to put yourself in his place when people are trying to discredit your name your product and threten your family. Yes I am defending my friend, cause I know the real man, and I am sure if you knew him you would agree. I think enough has been said about this hole thing, its over and all it dose is reopen old wounds. Lets get back to the bussiness of knives and the people that make them and the people that use them and enjoy them. Thank You, Paul Bos.

Agreed!

And I also want to say that I really like your work with Buck knives.
I have an Alaskan Guide Buck 110 with the Bos treated S30V--its cutting ability is simply amazing!

It may be a silly question, but do you work on the Buck Custom Shop knives too?

Thanks,
Allen.

Allen: Yes I do , All the knives with my logo on them are run to my specs. I oversee all blades heat treated at Buck Knives. All the S-30-V, ATS34, Cpm-154 and the154-CM, are sample tested by me. The heat treating crew we have here are verry watchfull of every batch of blades that go through here, They know what Chuck, CJ, and myself expect of every blade that goes through our heat treat. Thank You Paul Bos.

Excellent!
I have a custom shop Buck ordered right now.
I can hardly wait to get my hands on it.

Thanks again,
Allen.

Well said Paul. Good to see you posting here too by the way.

Normally I dont post anything unless somebody asks me a question personally, I always thought that the sworde was mighter than the pen, but I was wrong. Several people years ago said some bad things about me on this Forum that wernt true, But a lot of my Customers that I had known for 20 years or more called me to see if these things were true, it took me alot of time and phone calls to defend myself of these charges, cause at that time I never herd of Blade Forums and had no computer. Personal attacts should not be aloud to happen on these Forums. I have known Mick strider for at least 20 years he is a personal friend of mine, Yes he did screw up once in his life, He paid his det with no complaints like the Man that he is, Mick and his partner Duane Dwyer took Strider Knives where it is today with little help from outside. If mick and Duane were my Sons I couldent be more proude of what they have done for this industry and there Country. They have given more than any other Co. I know of. The Collaboration between Buck Knives And Strider Knives Has had a long sucsesfull run, and what happens next is between Mick, Duane and C. J. Buck. Im sure CJ will let you know when things settle down a bit. Even though we have been back in opperation for a year, we still have a lot going on up here that needs to be finished. Please excuse my spelling, and thanks for listning. Paul Bos.

yes i also seem to have read too much in to the rants on the other forum and as Mr Bos states there verry well could be a few who are wanting to discredit him. My appoliges to him as i should have asked him directly as we all make decisions and say things in anger that some times we can not recover from...
forgiven maby but seldom forgoten...
I have the highest reguards fro mr Bos and his profession and if he says that strider is ok well i have to accept that tell i meet him and make my own decison... as i said if the mess in the other therads is generting opions well
the Buck famly had a KNOWN reputation that spans generations and if they know of the issues and contuned to go with a colaberation then i have to respect that action and say that maby the whole story has not come out.
i am retired navy... i was issued a USN id number of B2xxxxx i caryed the gray id card tell they changed the coller to a pail blue with holagrams whidh i still have with full bennies which include that i can be called up in times of declared war ... man i would to go help in iran but that one it is not a declared war...
i was accused after posting that i worked in the nuclear industry of not being retired navy...
i was injured on duity -in line of duity-
and i was transfered to the Fleet Reserve - not DISCHARED..
as also was my brother later.
so i know things may be said and others call you on it... fleet reserve is fleet and is reitred weather 20 30 or some less time then the full 20 as i did. ret is ret.. i know that all navy are some times prone to emblishment and even a sea story or too!
i only thought of getting a tack knife as they were cheep
they are not my bag mostly... now a sale on 110's is a difrent thing~!

Wow! Very interesting reads. I know Strider makes some very high quality products, but that's good to know information reguardless.

Its an interesting read but keep in mind there are always three sides to every story, yours, mine and the truth. Some of the fans on both sides of this street seem to be taking sides and threatening boycotting one company or the other. They certainly have that right but I see no reason to cut off Buck and punish good people like Paul Bos and other people associated with Buck just because these guys are splitting up. I also see no reason for Buck fans to discredit Strider just because of this split or punish any of their fine good people that contribute to the end product. After all no one should really be held guilty by association. Buck and Strider knives had a good run and now its over. Celebrate the success of that venture and move on. Thats the best way to handle it. Its not the first split up on a collaboration and it won't be the last. I see no reason to end things on a sour note. Lifes too short for all that nonsense..

I put it there first Gary.

Thanks.

I think Buck should just pull a coup in the knife industry and buy Stryder. I think that would be a great team, once all this hoopla settles down.

inmho - i think buck should have bought scharde when it was on the auction block ....

Who hasn't screwed up? I was a lot bigger ass 30 years ago than I am now.(My Opinion) I have an X-Wife who would disagree - But she was one of my biggest mistakes!

I like Buck and their Buck-Strider Product.

I agree with The Goose, STR. Excellent post.

Buck Knives or Strider knives, are not going to get into any discussions about any of this in a public forum. Just isn't the way it is done! So no need in asking more questions about it. If they part company, your Strider/Bucks become instant collectables. Nuff said....

The way I see it is that Mick shoots straight from the hip no matter who (includeing me) it may sometimes piss off without worrying about being PC.
Got to admire a man like that.
As for the new knife that Buck has come out with,to me it does look like it is useing many Strider features with out the OK from Strider.
