My close friend and forum member @chuko passed away Tuesday. Am grief stricken, has taken me a couple of days to post. Because he is a forum regular and active buyer / seller thought I should notify folks here in case he was in the midst of a transaction.

Charles was the mayor of Edmond, OK, the fastest growing city in OK. He was a very busy man, but every couple months we would get together for coffee and fellowship. We would be like two little boys, excited to share our latest acquisitions, a welcome respite from the bigger problems he tackled on a daily basis. I reveled in getting to handle 150 year old beauties and sharing pics here. We were supposed to get together last Friday, but he cancelled due to feeling poorly. He mentioned some new acquisitions that he was excited about. I'll never get to see them, nor take pics of them to share with the porch. Rest in peace my friend.

Charles loved lobsters, New York Knives, custom gents, and any really old interesting knives. Please check his posts to see some of his beautiful collection. Charles was 72, services Monday. https://www.edmondsun.com/news/mayo...cle_fe21fc6a-fe62-11e8-9e51-ab1338467f15.html

I’m heart broken to read this John. Just yesterday I found a Henckels lobster that I thought I had lost and I was going to send it to him. A class act all the way.

Very sad to learn of this news :( Charles will be greatly missed here, we have lost one of our great members :( Sincere condolences to his family, and to you John, for the loss of a dear friend. Thank you for letting us all know, a touching post

RIP Charles

Oh man, John, I’m very sorry to hear this. Charles was always a great person to chat with and I loved seeing the knives he liked to collect. He will surely be missed on The Porch.

Oh man, it really sucks to read this. Been losing a few too many knife nuts lately. We lost Ken Harred a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if he was active on BF, but he was elsewhere.

Chuko was a fine forum member. Did not know him personally, but he was a great contributor, and his collection was remarkable. Sorry for the loss of your knife friend, John.

My hearty condolences, Chief. May he rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to Charles' family and his friends. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend John. It hurts. My only contact with Charles was when he won my GAW earlier this year. He was a "mensch."

I'm very sorry to hear this; condolences to his family and friends.

Dang. I just picked up a couple Lobsters I haven't had time to photo. I always enjoyed his posts. That must be one heck of a collection...

Very sad indeed. A prince of a person with a vast knowledge of vintage knives. He will be missed.

God be with us all, hopefully we will be able to reunite with our loved ones at some point. My condolences to his family.

My God that’s shocking news.

John mate - I too am saddened- for our loss, for your loss I’m sorry for you and Charles’ family and friends / community.

What a terrible shock to wake up to this Morning.
Man... Charles had the best of whatever pattern that was in his interest.

To you John and to us I’m really really sorry to hear this extremely sad news.

I hope Charles’s journey doesn’t stop here.
