This Cigar Box once held high-end Cuban Cigars (not for me!)!! I got several assorted cigar boxes from a local purveyor, for free, but now they charge money!! I guess they have become valuable, especially the nice Wood Boxes!!
This box sat silently under a pile of boxes, for a year or two, holding some interesting knives!!! Cig Box 1.jpgCig Box 2.jpg
This Empire Pruner is one of the knives! It has some corrosion from poor storage and handling; otherwise it has the factory edge, and is unused!! A wide blade and a long pull makes it unusual!!Emp prune 1.jpgEmp prune 2.jpg
This non-shielded Schrade Cut utility knife is also unused, and has nice Peachseed handles!!SCC ute 1.jpgSCC ute 2.jpg
Old style, pre-WWII can opener!!

Another un-used knife is this Schrade Walden Electrician's knife! SW TL.jpg
I was beginning to think this box was a time machine!! But the next one I opened is used; a Union Cutlery, Tidioute, Harness Jack!!Union 1.jpgUnion 4.jpg
I'll take some more pics tomorrow, and see what else we have here!!

About half my collection is in cigar boxes! :D I used to get some nice ones from a local tobacconist, but it closed down a few years back :(

Few old pics, got them a bit more organised since then ;)

How do you keep track of what knife is in what box?
I'm guessing you don't go through the cigar boxes asking self "Which knife (knives) do I want to carry today?"😊

Er...I don't actually know how many knives I have! :D I tried to get a BIT more organised a few years ago though, and bought some Dymo tape! ;)

There are about 40 cigar boxes, with the knives inside roughly classified, then there are a couple more with the knives I'm currently carrying regularly. A few knives are still in the boxes/tubes they came in, or in pouches, and knife rolls. Then there are several hundred more contained in 5 storage units like this (below), plus two similar units. They are roughly classified, according to type, clasp knives for example, or Scout knives, but a couple of the units just contain an assortment.

Fixed blades knives are in various cupboards, drawers, and boxes, in two rooms, (plus really big knives, and axes, in another room), and there are 2 large boxes under my bed with Sheffield table cutlery and kitchen knives. There are 2 large shoeboxes containing knives that need to be cleaned-up a bit, in another room, and at any one time, there are around 50 knives just kind of lying around, on my desk, coffee table, kitchen table, etc  Living alone allows me to get away with it! :D

You have an amazing collection, I'll never even hope to rival it, my wife would kick me to the curb. 🤣

you no! its funny what you come across hear on BF. when I lived in LA I always went to my local cigar shop to collect Theas boxes and at time owner just gave them away for free, I must have 30 wooden boxes I have kept over the years, some I keep knifes in and others I store other things in, its just grate to see other people have the same idea  as me.
