Nice box, and knives!!!These are fun projects. Here is mine. I lined the inside with foam and cut out slots to hold knives.
Wow!!! And I thought I had a lot of knives!!!Er...I don't actually know how many knives I have!I tried to get a BIT more organised a few years ago though, and bought some Dymo tape!

There are about 40 cigar boxes, with the knives inside roughly classified, then there are a couple more with the knives I'm currently carrying regularly. A few knives are still in the boxes/tubes they came in, or in pouches, and knife rolls. Then there are several hundred more contained in 5 storage units like this (below), plus two similar units. They are roughly classified, according to type, clasp knives for example, or Scout knives, but a couple of the units just contain an assortment.

Fixed blades knives are in various cupboards, drawers, and boxes, in two rooms, (plus really big knives, and axes, in another room), and there are 2 large boxes under my bed with Sheffield table cutlery and kitchen knives. There are 2 large shoeboxes containing knives that need to be cleaned-up a bit, in another room, and at any one time, there are around 50 knives just kind of lying around, on my desk, coffee table, kitchen table, etcLiving alone allows me to get away with it!

Cigar boxes are handy for storing all sorts of things. I’ve spent a fair bit of time in different cigar shops, though not so much recently. Some would give them away, though most would charge a buck or two.
The only one I have knives in (at least currently) is this one I keep on top of my knife cabinet. I took the top off and lined it with the same tool box drawer liner I used for the cabinet drawers, and I use it as a staging area for knives that I’ve recently carried. As it fills up, I’ll wipe down at the knives in it, oil them if necessary and put them away.

True!! Some cigar boxes are works of art - or groany puns!!I like the old cigar boxes that have some interesting and colorful graphics on them. old Billy Butts there is a favorite of mine. Thank You Charlie for starting this thread as cigar boxes and pocket knives go together like peas and carrots!

There was a time I used to be able to count them instead of sheep, when I had insomnia. When I got to a thousand, about 10 years ago, I gave up counting them. Every now and then, I briefly think about cataloguing them, but I don't have time!I don't know how many I have, haven't counted in years.
I refuse to on princple my daughter wants me to catalogue them, as she has laid claim to them when I've gone.....She doesn't get that I am going to live forever![]()
