Curios; what's the deal with no love appearently for Civivi knives? They seem to be a well built knife[have two so far].

Well they put out so many different ones that most designs probably just fly under everyone's radar. But generally agreed upon to be one of the best budget brands. Im a big We supporter so obviously I like civivis whenever I have them.

I think the elementum might be the best offering they have. Id opt for the WE version though as its made with better materials.

Civivi is the mid-level brand for WE knives. Top is WE, middle is Civivi, bottom is Sencut. Their impact is blunted by the constant stream of new models that flood the market. I have a couple and the quality is very good, fwiw. I find other brands more interesting, however.

Civivi is a well-manufactured, budget brand. By the nature of it's membership being mostl afficionados of high end knives, the focus of most threads on BF mostly excludes budget knives. So IMO, Civivi tends to fly under the radar of most members, especially when coupled with the huge number of variants they produce. It's hard to get overly excited about one of their designs when next month there will be two more variants of it.

I remember there being several threads on the Civiv Elementum, however. That particular design went beyond being just a "good budget knife" and has been popular with a lot of knife knuts. It hit the sweet spot in size, blade shape, and handle ergonomics; and it was availble in several different blade steels, and several lock types.

I have a titanium Laconico Keen made by WE (civivi) that I adore.

Owned one budget Civivi and didn't like it at all. Thin liners, felt flimsy. I wish either one of their brands would focus more on simple "less is more" robust designs and cool it with the inlays and such.

They have such production/tooling potential, they should have way more home runs like the Elementum etc.

Keep it simple, sleek, and strong.

Plus my ass is constantly chapped that very few companies put out 3.5-3.7" folders. It's slim pickins :(

Bought one because I liked the design. It was a terrible knife - action and overall quality. I will not buy another because I currently have no reason to purchase a Chinese knife. There are so many good alternatives from the USA and Taiwan. Just my preference at this point but I do get tempted on occasion.

Edit - and Japan
