Civivi knives?

I’ve owned several Civivi’s and no complaints so far. They’re pocket friendly, budget friendly, and functional, what’s not to love?
Below is my work knife.

I went to civivi official site and paroozed their Nitro-V offerings, and i have to say, they have some goofy looking designs, i dont really care much for 'em
I prioritize form and function which is why I think the elementum model and other models like it are a stellar choice and a good starting point for anyone looking to dip their shoes in that pond

Avoid knives using a button lock. There are a lot of complaints about these. Also, avoid blackwash finished blades. The finish starts rubbing off too easily. IMO, their designs are a bit on the bling side.
I cut open and apple using a button lock one and the apple's juice caused the button to stick forevermore even though I tried to wash the area, it just got worse the more I used it

I like button locks. They're way to open and close with one hand. Fast too.

Button locks are an essential part of switchblades. Civivi is having a lot of trouble with them on inexpensive manual knives. Maybe the opening force of a switchblade keeps everything in order.

I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the info. For me its the easiest one-handed open and close mechanism. I have two Civivi button lock folders. They're EDC type knives, not hardcore users.

Can't really go wrong with Civivi for a budget user, although the folders often aren't the most exciting knives out there since they save that for the We Knife line. I've always thought Civivi puts their best foot forward with their fixed blades, the Tamashii is legendary.
I have a pair of Teton Ticklers that I absolutely love to mention when given the opportunity.

Civivi has been doing button locks for years. Where are they having trouble? Dont use small pocket knives for camping activities and they're fine lol.

Wished to god Civivi and every other chinese knife company would stop using branded pivots

The WE pivots have gotten less offensive with just the straight lines but they are still ugly. I would much rather a small C billboarded or WE on the blade vs the pivots. The moment CJRB starts with that I'm turning on them too. Petrified fish, WE, Civivi, QSP... I'm angry with you.

Civivi has so much potential to pull off clean designs, yet they insist on drenching everything in lavendar with their fruity inlays and holes galore.

I have handled a couple of friends Civivi knives. They seem like pretty decent low middle of the pack EDC knives. For the price, they are not a "bad" option. Fine for basic non hard-use, use.

However, if you are a bargain hunter you can go up a grade or two for not that much more. Cold Steel for example makes some pretty good knives you can get on sale in the $55 - $70 dollar range with S35VN Steel, G10 or Aluminum Scales, and a strong reputable lock.

I bought my Wife a pink, Baby Banter and she adores it. Perfect for her every day needs. The caged bearings really help it open nicely which is good for a small knife.
I carry my XM18, Small Insingo and mini Ritter most days, but now I want a Baby Banter myself!

My pick in the budget category is Petrified Fish. The 818 is under $29 and Bunta $33. Most of the others are around $40 to $60. Sometimes the Cold Steel Code 4 is under $60. I loved the light weight and contoured scales of the Civivi Praxis, but it scratched like crazy and kept loosening up. Yes, I know Amazon sells thousands of them and a popular knife you tuber considers it a top pick for a beater.
