Civivi knives?

Giving away knives is great. The other day I gave a neighbor a carbon fiber scaled Dragonfly from a couple of decades back. He loves it and it's perfect for him to carry to his job.
The best part about about giving that pink thing to my wife is that it immediately took the focus off the fact that I had just received a brand new CRK. . . 😁🤣

They started carrying Civivi knives at my local ACE Hardware, and I have to say, having inspected/fondled a few of them, they are an awful lot of quality knife for the money. I don't recall the models they had, but they were all flippers, all the blade grinds were immaculate (albeit in a bit of a more pedestrian steel, sure), beautiful scales, good ergonomics, all edges were smoothed out, and the damn thing was like...$53.

It's absolutely an incredible time to be a knife enthusiast, and there are limitless choices for our dollars. However, Civivi makes a great looking knife for not a lot of money. They are made overseas, but (if the ones I inspected are any indication), they're made by folks who seem to care about what they're doing.

I need to pick up a Banter at some point, my buddy loves the one he bought.

It is indeed a great time to collect. And civivi offers a lot of nice looking "special" options like wood handles and Damascus on top of the regular variety.

I had a mini praxis back in my old apartment and I did a lot of dumb things with it not straight abuse but dumb things nevertheless and it never failed, centering stayed perfect, only felt the need to strop it once and didnt even need that, I am pleasantly surprised by their quality and it waa picked up from Walmart, which i see some people onbYT claiming is a different civivi quality than say ordered online or bought direct. Ill say that isnt true

I have a handful of them. ive bought over the years. all mine are well made and were a good deal.

even got this free one today in the mail along with a purchase from a dealer....

They have thin blades and slice really well. They also do nice hollow grinds and have great heat treatment. Of the three Brands (We, Civivi, Sencut), I like Sencut the best. It's more of a 'working mans' knife. None of them make 'hard use' folders. Way too thin and dainty for any sort of prying.

I wish they would settle down and stop making a million new models every month. They do have some regulars like the Elementum and the Qubit.

IMO, they have SpyderCo like quality. So many companies, today, have bad heat treats or other QC issues. You can't go wrong with Civivi or SpyderCo and if you do get a lemon, they will make it right. That's one reason I seldom 'try out' a different brand... you just never know if it's any good or not.

I have a Praxis and a Praxis mini. Both are OK for the money. The black wash 9Cr18MoV blade scratches easily and the finish prevents buffing it out.

Can't really go wrong with Civivi for a budget user, although the folders often aren't the most exciting knives out there since they save that for the We Knife line. I've always thought Civivi puts their best foot forward with their fixed blades, the Tamashii is legendary.

I love my Baby Banters. For me, they have good ergos, deploy smoothly, and nicely cut what I want to cut.

I ve been carrying a Brazen lately while recovering from a shoulder injury. Routine edc tasks. No heavy work. I must say that it is a very nice knife. Thin grind and seems to keep an edge well. I like the 14c28n. The knife seems very well made.

I won a few from Knife Rights a few years ago. They are well made and I like the one I kept out of the lot, slipjoint design. However, I'm not a made in china fan so I usually just pass them by.
