Hello Everyone,

The first batch of five CKCA 2012 Club Knives are finished and will be ready to ship out in a couple of days.

I sent the knives to Coop so he could do what he does best.

I have been doing a WIP thread on the CKCA Forum if you would like to take a look.http://customknifecollectorsassociation.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=1875

Thank you for looking.

Charles

What a pleasure unpacking these and spreading them out. Charles calls these 'boot knives', but they are, in my opinion, a bit bigger.

So well made. So consistent. 15 happy owners. Thanks, Charles!

I was asked by a member to shoot one of them solo for his portfolio. Certainly!

(In fact, I shot them ALL individually, just in case others wished this. I hated to send them back only to remorse later.)

I did not have sheaths to display, but Charles' sheaths are simple and well-made.

A huge THANKS to Charles for creating these beauties and to Steven Garsson for managing the project.

This is the second CKCA Club Knife.

Charles' WIP shows impeccable work being done, over and over. The mark of a real Maker.

Beautiful group of knives.

Coop's fotos are excellent as always and I especially like that Koa one...

Fantastic work Charles! That's an impressive looking initial group for sure and what an extra treat to have them captured collectively and individually by Coop's lens. Great stuff.

The photo confuses me. I should have #4, but it's not in this batch. Are we working backwards?

Hi Kevin,

The knives are being built in order of the post in Steven's order thread. Thought that was the easiest way to do it.

Your knife will be in the next batch.

Take care

Charles

Charles - thanks for clarifing that. Be danged if I remember the order that went by, but no matter. I'll have to send you a new address, I'll be in transit to my next duty station 24 May-3 June, and it may take a little while to find a new place out west. Loved the WIP thread!

Charles what an amazing undertaking and you pulled it off. The results are outstanding. The WIP was exciting to watch as well. The new owners are going to be thrilled.

HEY, number 4 is mine! Hands off! :)

Seriously, I was confused at first also, because I thought he was following the asssigned CKCA knife number (mine is 6 to match the number of my last CKCA knife from Karl Andersen). But I got my order in fourth, so that beauty is mine . . . all mine, do you hear me?! :D Besides, that one has the desert ironwood scales on it that I sent Charles to match the DI handle on my first CKCA knife from Karl Andersen.

if you have never owned one of Charles' knives, well then you are in for a treat. I am fortunate enough to own a couple. Just awesome attention to detail, fit and finish, etc. I also own a couple of Loveless originals and several stock removal knives in various Loveless designs by various well known makers. IMO Charles' knives are right up there with the best of the best.

There are at least two Boot patterns from the Loveless shop. They are not dramatically different; one 4.5" the other 5". Maybe Thad gave the 5" pattern?

Must have, as you stated Thad provided a pattern from the Loveless Shop. A good example of CKCA members all pitching in to help on projects.

Great group photo Coop! Thanks and will go into the CKCA Project Archive.
