CKCA 2012 Club Knives

There are at least two Boot patterns from the Loveless shop. They are not dramatically different; one 4.5" the other 5". Maybe Thad gave the 5" pattern?

The knives have a blade length of 4 5/8" from the front of the guard to the tip of the blade. and an over all length of 9 1/4".

Rick Clow sent me a Loveless Shop pattern for a "3/4 Boot" and I'll have one of these at Blade with amber stag scales. Please stop buy and have a look.

Take care

Just an update for everyone.....

I received a package from Charles today :D

The knife is even nicer than it looked in Coop's excellent fotos, really a great feel in the hand

the sheath is also very nice, and Charles kindly included a little chamois for fingerprints and a Bill's custom case :thumbup:

Just a fabulous job all around

Bill

I find the reflected light bulb in the handles in the group shot to be interesting. Maybe it is the placement of the bulb. The two ironwood handles have by far the most reflection - especially the second one from the right. Much less reflection on the micarta, ringed gidgee and koa. Just not used to seeing that pronounced of a reflection and wonder if it is due to the ironwood material or something else.

Reflections:

Ken, the shot has (2) light sources: One is a softbox diffuser OVER my diffuser tent. It's double-strength diffuser lamp which I use for my polished surfaces. It is nearly overhead to the left.

The other lamp is a single hard bulb with only the tent as a diffuser. I use this to 'pronounce' the handle textures better. It's a stronger, harder, lower light.

This is placed more to the rear and to the right. It will affect the knives to the right more than to the left.

The angle of the swell, the polish of the surface, the reflective nature of that material, will reveal more or less 'highlight' (I do not call it glare.) So will the light's positioning.

Very nice clean work on all of these. The finishes are, like Mark said, outstanding.

This picture is really cool too.

You sure make beautiful knives.
Great finish on the wood. Even the micarta ones look great.

Mark, I picked the ringed gidgee up from you in summer 2011. Really like the results Charles got with it.

Once again, can't thank Charles and those involved enough for this project. Just loving the outcome.

Coop's images are a treat.

Beautiful knives. Great to have the entire set captured like this. Props to Coop as well.

Charles,

You sure are consistant. Just one beautiful knife after another all with the same great finish. Mark, the Koa in the middle of the second group is a piece of your wood.

Kevin

If you look really, REALLY closely, you can find distinctions in each of the knives beyond the wood choices. Personalities. That said, these are as close to consistent as handmade can get.

I loved every one. So will the owners.

Thanks, Charles. Thanks, guys.

Charles, I couldn't be more pleased with how this project is turning out.
All the knives are outstanding. Looking forward to seeing the final five!

I appreciate the effort you have put into this project and your providing the beautiful Coop images
documenting alone the way.
