CKCA 2012 Club Knives

Just an update for everyone.....

I received a package from Charles today :D

The knife is even nicer than it looked in Coop's excellent fotos, really a great feel in the hand

the sheath is also very nice, and Charles kindly included a little chamois for fingerprints and a Bill's custom case :thumbup:

Just a fabulous job all around

Bill

Mine arrived yesterday. Ditto on Bill's post. Charles has made every part of this very pleasing, and produced an awesome package in the process. Plus, the WIP thread on CKCA forum is a nice bonus.

Thanks for going above and beyond, Charles!

These make me happy. I'm often 'accused' of making knives look better than they are. Lighting and angles can raise the bar. That said, there is proof that even I can't truly depict the best aspects of a knife in an image. You have to hold them. :)

I'm not surprised.

I received mine yesterday, one of those with green micarta scales. Very nice! Had to put it back in the case to get anything done around the house last night. Thank you Charles!

Mine arrived this week and I made the mistake of picking it up at the post office during my lunch break....
I wasn't going to leave it in the car, so I just had to take it into work and unwrap it. Well that blew the afternoon! What great work to have and to hold! When I wasn't playing with it, my associate was. By the end of the day I had introduced him to the CKCA website and all of the club knives Charles has made so far. A big thank you to Charles for my knife and helping me show off the CKCA.

Happy but not surprised to see how well these knives are being received. I love mine. I have several other knives which Charles made and they all reek of quality and attention to detail. And IMO, represent an outstanding value. And I am in his queue to get another knife from him someday - if he is isn't finished making knives after this monster project!

I imagine this project might have consumed a whole lot more of Charles' time than he might have wanted or even thought would be the case when he agreed to do this. I just want to publicly thank him for his great work and for bringing so many smiles to so many faces.

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words.

Here are the last five CKCA 2012 Club Knives.

Handle materials from left to right, Ironwood, African Blackwood, Old Micarta, Stabilized Walnut and Ironwood.

Now back to the shop to start on some orders, and guess what, there are three Boot Knives in the batch I'm working on:eek:

Take care

Charles

Another round of applause, Charles - these look great in every handle option.

Be still my heart!

Well done, well done, Charles.

Thank you for the hard work that you put into this.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Every single one is consistent and satisfying. When I saw that old Micarta version, I was cranky *I* didn't get on board with that. Sweeeet.

I'm going to try to compile a single image with all 15. It will be a collage image (three individual photos).

What an outstanding project, and all fulfilled on time! Props.

Thank you, Charles!

Thanks Joe and Jim,

Coop has worked some computer magic and has this image to close out the CKCA 2012 Club Knife project.

Thank you Coop for all your excellent work.

All the knives, your handling of the project, the outstanding Coop photos to document the project, all spectacular and a testament of your superb talent and professionalism.

Also, thanks to Steven for putting this together and to Coop for the fine images.

Speaking of fine Coop images, here's a single shot of one of the Ironwood pieces from the final batch:
