Custom Knife Factory is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. The T90 is insane and so I had to have another CKF blade. The Sukhoi 2.0! What a detailed brilliant blade. Just got it today so a review may come later but man this thing is awesome.

Next to the T90, both large 4"+

I just saw that knife on YouTube, but when I followed the link, the knife was sold out. Wondering where you got yours, but I guess we're not supposed to mention dealers here (???).

Nice looking knife. I saw they had a couple customized dragon versions which looked pretty sweet. They sold out pretty fast.

Chazzy!! Check out Knifecenter bro! That's where I got mine. I got the black wash version.....smoothest and prettiest knife I have! If I remember correctly, they had them on sale for $300.
Definitely a knife you'll be glad to own!

I have the blackwash- love it. BUT, the thing came pretty dull, which really surprised me. (Maybe a employee at the retail store put it to use:confused:.)Spent quite a bit of time getting the blade sharp. Any other CKF owners with similar experience?

Hey Palonej, I checked them out yesterday and both versions are listed as discontinued. I gotta sell some blades before I can even think of another one anyway--bought waaaay to many lately! Yeah, I'm broke too….

Thanks anyway, my man.

So, Joe, a BF member sent me a link to the big auction site where there was a satin Sukhoi with the minimum bid at the regular US and FRWK dealer price. I waited until the last minute and won it at the minimum. Funny, I went to BHQ today and they have the knife back in stock in blackwash where they were out the other day when we both posted here. Anyway, I can't wait for mine to show up, both to have the blade in hand and to get over my usual anxiety buying where i did, though I've never been anything but satisfied there.

That thing looks killer cool. I gotta say, I really like all of the CKF knives that I've seen. They have some great designs, and from what I'm seeing on the inter webs, their quality is top notch.

The knife looks rather cool, but I am surprised at some of the comments from some of the owners at one of the sites selling this knife. Lose parts that need tightened and it appears they are dull right out of the box.

2 expensive to use and the design is to futuristic to me. Some sources say it's dull out of the box.

2 expensive to use...

Probably dependent on your financial tollerance. If you carry a CRK, Strider, Hinderer, or similar knife the CKF knives shouldn't deter use due to expense. If your financial tollerance is $200 and under for a user, then yeah, maybe too expensive.

As to the QC issues noted. My ONLY complaint/observation is the sub-par edge put on the knife, but that was easily rectified. (Still curious if other owners had the same experience???). I've not had problems with loose parts or any other QC concerns.

As for the futuristic design - I think that's exactly what CKF was going for. May not be your cup o'tea. The cool thing about the overall design is that it's futuristic AND a practical cutting tool. The ergos are actually quite good, somewhat reminiscent of the now Classic BM 710.

The blade shape makes for a very practical cutting tool. No funky grinds, just a straight forward blade that blends well with the overall design. Futuristic? Yes. Practical cutting tool? Yes.

I had the same experience with mine. Edge was ground at about 60 degrees inclusive and wouldn't really cut anything. I reprofiled it to a 33 degree mirror polished edge and it sure cuts now! Also, if you don't want more problems don't take it apart, it isn't constructed in the most intelligent way and the screws strip easily. Mine is currently on my desk in pieces waiting for new screws from CKF. Great knife when it's together though.

Good to know - haven't taken min apart. I'll resist that urge:). Stripped screws eh? Matter of using the wrong sized drive? Or sub-par hardware?

I've got Wiha drivers of the correct size, it's just that the hardware is really soft (nicely machined though). I have heard of a few others having this problem, especially with the two t6 screws under the CF.

Hello guys :)
Yes. There will be smth we will name Sukhoi 3.0, right.
In 2017, i suppose.

My Sukhoi was waiting for me at the PO after work today. This one has the hand-rubbed satin blade and non-anodized hardware which is the look I like. No issues with fit and finish, loose hardware, or black gunk in the pivot--everything's gorgeous, solid, and smooth. For a knife with a narrow profile the blade stock and handle are both quite thick and the knife has some real heft to it. I'm just getting into it and it's quite different than anything else I've come across so far. Pretty sweet, though.

As to the sharpness issue that's been raised above, mine has a very consistent edge--consistently dull! Duller than dirt. Not obtuse, as some have mentioned, as that would be over 90 deg inclusive, but definitely well over 40. It really doesn't seem they even got to an apex. This baby has a date with the EdgePro tonight or tomorrow for sure. I'm thinking of a 30 deg inclusive with a 40 deg micro, which is what I keep on my EDC Seb. I like the 40 deg micro as it makes for any easy touch-up on the SharpMaker. The Sukhoi may be a fair amount thicker behind the edge so I might drop the secondary to 32 or 34 so I don't have to spend all night re-profiling and end up with a super-wide edge bevel. I do love an S35VN edge and I'll let you know how she comes out.
