CKF Sukhoi 2.0

So here's the new edge. It took more than a couple hundred passes each side on the EdgePro with the 220 stone with a couple flattenings mixed in just to get to an apex and get a little burr at 15 degrees each side. Went through the 440 and 1000 grit stones and then the 3000 grit tapes. I decided to do the 20 each side micro-bevel on the SharpMaker as that's what I use to touch up anyway. I started with the diamonds and went up through the hones to the extra fines, finishing up both bevels on a green rouge loaded leather strop.

I'm still not very accomplished on the EdgePro, so even though it looks mirrored there are still some scratches on the bevel. The blade edge at the plunge grind is a problem as there's no beard or sharpening choil there, so I buggered that up a bit, and there seems to be a bit of a hollow where the plunge grind meets the FFG of the blade. I'm thinking of grinding a slight choil there but have to be careful not to cut away the shoulder that engages the stop pin when closed.

There's a lot to like about this knife--awesome F&F and wicked smooth--but I wonder if it's a bit more art object than cutting tool. The blade is awful thick, but it did take a pretty keen edge. I'll carry and use it and see how it goes.

Looks good ChazzyP. I started with a sharpmaker, but moved to a KO Work Sharp. Worked out pretty well. So far I've been pretty impressed with the performance of the knife. But I'm alteady looking for my next;)
