Classic C. Robbin Hudson style, by Dan Farr

Very cool, Roger. I still have a crusty old Hudson large hunter in my desk drawer. His older carbon steel and walnut knives are one of the better counter arguments to "brass has no class"

Rob use to come to the Ashokan seminar's, very lively sessions with him,
he had also brought some throwing knives he had forged, WOW did they
throw sweet! thick solid metal handles and balance was perfect, threw
like a dream, I wish he would have sold them there but they were his personal
OLD throwing knives and were not for sale :(

I was just thinking about Rob recently good to see this thread and my congrats
to you on your lovely knife! very keen gift!

Thank you Gary. I'm going to Ashokan for the first time this year - it would be great if Rob made a return appearance.

Glad this thread resurfaced. Have been really tied up since Blade and not out here much. This thread makes my heart glad.

Great gift, great family, great modern provenance for this knife makes it priceless! Fantastic, Roger!!!

Wow, I'm hoping to make it there this year too, but, a lot of travel lately
so not positive :( as for Rob, it'd be great if he could make it up, maybe
Kevin Cashen can send an invite for him?

Roger,

I do not know how this one slipped by me. Great piece and great story. If you recall I was looking for Dan's table at Blade at your request. When I did find it Dan had some real fine pieces. Excited as usual I immediately called you. Before you answered Dan said "Wait a minute, you cannot make that call"! He Ghent proceeded to tell me the story behind this knife. I have to say it was just a great story and I knew you would be ecstatic. Needless to say I had been waiting for you to post this up but it did escape me. I am glad to see it here. A fine knife, from a fine maker, and a Father's day story to remember.

Congratulations, Jon

^^^ I thought back on that when I got the knife, Jon. I figured there had to be a story there - and now I know. :)
