Very nice Slash Five! My first BMW was an R100S. Wish I kept her, so easy to work on and rock solid reliability. My son who’s a Club 81 member finally took my advice and bought a K1600 Bagger after riding bikes that made more noise than power and didn’t handle worth sh..!
……..ooh, what a veiled casting of aspersions upon Milwaukee machinery..!Very nice Slash Five! My first BMW was an R100S. Wish I kept her, so easy to work on and rock solid reliability. Indeed! I plan on purchasing one after I get my first boat. I hear that they make great anchors!……..ooh, what a veiled casting of aspersions upon Milwaukee machinery..!
Have you tried any of the newer, much newer, models…? Despite their size and weight, they can be hustled through twisties with phenomenal progress. If you know how to counter-steer and trail-brake properly, swing your leg over a 117cu.in CVO, think you’ll be surprised.
At the end of the day though, each to their own, of course.
Ride safe![]()
- wow..! A $42,000 anchor...........most classy, cool idea. There's a new one in Yellow Pearl livery, would look great among the coral.......swimming with the fishesIndeed! I plan on purchasing one after I get my first boat. I hear that they make great anchors!![]()

- sounds lovelyHard to beat the 100 cu.in BMW, trust me (happens to have exactly 1649 ccm), and noise to performance is perfect. And I do have a Fatboy too, albeit older, for the occasional Friday evening outing
The BMW is not the most reliable bike though, all 6 of my coils are now replaced after a couple of years (for free - factory defect). Touch wood and all.
Will post a trad. knife + bike pic tomorrow.
I like it.
Please doJohnnythefox - stop it, man, you're encouraging me to post some biking travel pics too..!
