I'd like the forums opinion on the classiest pocket knives you have seen. A knife that you could pull out at a formal or upper crust occasion and get looks of admiration. :P Price is no object but I would prefer knives somewhere within the realm of average affordability. Photos and links desirable.

the CRKT glide lock series is pretty "classy" but there is also the CRKT fulcrum. but dont plan on using the fulcrum for anything heavy though. kind of a "light weight" knife. but neat in its own right. the J.A. harkins OTF "triton" is without a doubt one of the classier knives ive seen. microtech has customs that are quite fancy as well :D

Darrel Ralph cranks out some beautiful knives. He is truly a master bladesmith, not many can reach his level. I'd also say William Henry knives are among some of the coolest I've seen. True gentlemens folders.

For slip joints, I don't know if you could beat the fine work that T.A. Davison does over in the Knife Makers Exchange. I don't own one yet, but plan to eventually:

Those really are beautiful.

Cool indeed, kind of a hint of exotic about them.

I've had the urge to buy one for about 6-8 months now. It's tough right now though trying to acquire enough funds as well as keeping up with various sprint runs and limited edition knives. It's fun though.

Yeah I feel you. I have some money but with cost of living what it is I find it hard to justify spending hundreds on a gorgeous knife when I already have a bunch of practical ones. especially when I've been out of work for almost 6 months :grumpy: but it's fun just looking :D

I really want(ed) one of these (Buck 110 WBC bear claw limited edition)

Tastes vary but that is just a really awesome design for me, especially the bears head. It's rugged and gentlemanly at the same time.

A CRK Large 21 sebenza with a damascus blade is about as classy and elegant as it gets IMO not the least bit over done.

I love Darrel's work. He sent me a pic of a new custom he made because it was on his mind. OMG  it's a good thing we weren't in the same room or I couldn't have walked away from it! Heck his Mid-tech company HTM knives are beauties at blue collar prices.

To the OP - I'm sure there are gentlemen in every walk of life but a Grizzly Bear headed Buck knife usually doesn't collide with your description of a "knife that you could pull out at a formal or upper crust occasion."

I'd go with the William Henry, a CRK Mnandi or possibly an inlayed small Sebenza to fit the bill for you. :)

If you like a bit more on the tactical side, basically anything by GTC. Gustavo T. Cecchini is a true artist. http://gtcknives.com/

Even non knife people (my wife) conside his knives pretty.
