Like Singularity35, I too live in the Tropics. Always hot. Always humid. Lots of sweat....
The most common way my EDC's get washed is when I forget to take it out of my pocket and it gets a full cycle in the washing machine. We 'line dry,' so the knife does get taken out of the pocket at that time. I usually just give it a shake and stuff it back into the pocket of the clean pants I put on. Never had a problem with rusting.
I figure, if you take care of your knives properly, they aren't going to rust just because they got wet. They aren't 'Prima Donnas.' They're knives.
