Some of you might remember the old meat cleaver that I posted after I turned it into a Nessmuk-ish camp knife.

A fellow BF member contacted me and we made a deal where I'd make him one if he sent me the cleaver of his choice. He sent two, and to my surprise, they were HUGE. Mamoth meat cleavers.

The one in the center is mine. Here is a pic to show how much thicker they are.

I finally got some new sanding belts so I went out to the garage this morning to finish up the larger of the two. Let me know what you think.

I like how the spine on the Briddell looks like it's been hammered on extensively.

Holy moly! That's a beast! Very nice job on the grinds. It looks more like a broadaxe than a knife.

What are the specs?

That is a thing of beauty. I love choppers!

I have been hitting the rummage sales and thrift shops looking for meat cleavers since I saw your monster nessie.

That is real craftsmanship. How nice to re-work an old blade into a new useful tool. Would you mind showing your workshop and tools that you used?

Very awesome looking! With a new handle and a leather sheath, that sucker could be a heck of a woodsbumming tool.

I dont know how practical it is, but I like it. I also have an an Old Hickory cleaver that Id like to do that too.
