Dogs are so much better than people.

I have always liked my dogs more than people... By quite a bit in fact... Even most generally decent people...

But sometimes i think even a damn possum has more common sense and decency than some.

Thankfully after that incident the day has been much better. Kids had a blast at Legoland. Got to do some early trick or treating after riding rides and then watched fireworks...

Going back tomorrow to do everything all over again...

I seen loads of awesome things created by legos but one of my favorites I'll post up in a second.... Or 396

Did a little shooting with my son today. Fun day...:)

Looks like a very good time Trade.

My wife and I also had a busy day. She spent a few hours at the office and I worked on bottling some honey and rendering some beeswax.

But the big event was turning 8 extra roosters into "roasters"...although technically the 5-month old could be a fryer (at 3.5 pounds and 20 weeks). The others were all between 4 and 4.5 pounds dressed and six months old, so that puts them in the roaster category.

Most of the work was done with the BK5 (removing heads and feet) and the Mora (killing and bleeding them). I'm ready for action next to the plucker.

Besides the BK5 and Mora, I used the Zwilling Henckels kitchen shears (open the cavity) and boning knife (remove oil gland and eviscerate).

The plucker came from McMurray Hatchery, and worked great. It took about 90 seconds to do each bird.

After plucking, the oil gland was removed, as well as the feet and wing tips, then they were eviscerated. After this, they were rinsed and put in an ice bath for 4 hours.

The eight filled up the cooler nicely. So we now have 28 hens and 2 roosters. We kept the 18 month old Delaware (Delbert) and one of the Delaware/Dominique crosses (name TBD). It was chaos in the chicken run before with all those horny roosters...now things are much calmer...hopefully egg production will improve with the more relaxed environment.

Absolutely nowhere near the biggest or most extravagant by any means... There was mini "cities" full of buildings, a safari with life size animals and all types of stuff.. But i thought this was badass.

crazy. for the same cost you could probably make a working replica out of actual car materials!

mmm, chicken plucker

i had an amazing day using tractor to manually move TONS of things in prep for winter... mower deck, 1000 lbs of stone, 3000 lbs of wood, and more...

ended my day my accidentially (derp) dropped 75 lbs log onto my left hand, well, the left hand was slow, the day was cold and i was tired.

it bled GOOD.

thank goodness for really good gloves. saved the DAY, though i still screamed out loud. man.

good first aid protocol... not too bad 6-7 hours later. i will lose at least one finger nail though.

most of the stump grew back an hour ago.

dead pool.

modern tapes and stuff for the win.

steri strips

nexx tape

etc

buy them

yikes!!
super regeneration power activating Epi-Pens? I hear the price has gone up.

Sounds like a good day...except for the last part... Pictures?

Edit: Although I have to say that "use my tractor" and "manually" seem to be mutually exclusive... :D

The wife asked the dreaded question, what do you want for Christmas, haha. No clue. Have way more than I need now, tbh.

A storage solution for all your knives? :D

Speaking of which, this seems like a great theme for those who can't seem to spend on maintenance gear instead of another knife or five. Put storage and diamond hones on your holiday list! (Not singling you out, Dubs, I figure you got that little cabin to store all your blades already. ;))

I sold a lot of my blades off. Sold 2 BK5's, a BK4, BK20, Condor muk, Condor Bushlore, etc. They were just sitting there, not getting used. I keep many of my blades in a duffel bag, ready to take to the cabin. I switch them out occasionally.

It looks to me like it's not even there physically, but instead is just badly rendered CGI.....still pretty cool, tho.

WW - its time to start a working lego model of your truck :D

Read below...

Exactly! Me and the wife talked about this... Legos are kinda pricey, in this quantity too... and all those man hours... You could just buy the car lol

Man the whole place was like that... Everything looked like it was from a cheaply made cartoon... But popped out in real life. It was pretty cool really.

The capitol building was pretty sweet too... If you stacked all the legos used to make it on top of each other it would measure 6miles high so they say.

NASA space center was another favorite. The rockets were pretty badass... Kids and wife enjoyed the animals and dinosaurs more... They were cool too..

Jeep cover.
Guess you don't ride with the top down much. I didn't as much this year as last, but I did have the doors and windows off a lot. I'll be picking up a cover before spring. Just so I can leave the doors and windows off. Kind of a pain putting it back together anytime it may rain over night, only over night, then the days are great for a bunch in a row but rains like every night lol. Also really like those smitty gear seat covers with all the molle attachments, and the tailgate one. Bit pricey though, but that's what gift cards are for 👍

I keep my Jeep in my mom's garage. She lives just down the street from me.

I saw several molle/racks/folding tables for the Jeep tailgate. That stuff is pretty cool.

Actually, I was thinking about getting some woodworking tools, especially a bowl adze.

Now your talkin!
I've been eyeballing desktop CNC. Then that leads to 3D scanners and printers, laser cutter... ugh
I found myself following a path I can't afford lol. Then started a list of return on investment...
Man, would be cool to work from home. My current career is getting very complicated, time consuming, and rough on my body. Only 42 and feelin it lol

I hate people...

Walking to my truck this morning a guy parks diagonally in a straight parking spot right up to the driver door of my truck... In an empty parking lot....

I see him pull up and ask if he'd mind pulling one spot over so i can get into my truck...

He tells me if I'm careful enough i can squeeze in... I show him i can't open the driver door but 3" without hitting his truck and ask again for him to move it...

Then he says... Cant you get into the passenger side... Then i snapped.

I hate people.

Well... did he move the damn truck?

Doc
