Cliff bars

I like them a lot, but I must also agree with the suggestion of Snickers. They make a nice break from the granola-type bars. Life is short, carry both!

To me, most flavors of Clif taste like cardboard. And to make it harder, I live at sea level and do most of my backpacking above 10,000', and I lose my appetite when I go up that high. Food that I marginally like at sea level can hardly be choked down at elevation, so that pretty much precludes most Clif bars for me.

That being said, I do like the Apricot flavor.

I like the Balance cookie dough much better, and some of the Lara bars aren't too bad. And for just plain old energy on backpacking trips, I find it hard to beat marzipan and nutella.

Peanut Toffee Buzz and Maple Nut are a couple of my favorites. I like most of them.

For those of you who have never tried a cliff bar they are cheap tasty and nutritious.

I do like them, especially the less sweet ones like Black Cherry Almond, but they aren't particularly nutritious... are they? I really don't know. All I do know is that brown rice syrup (aka sugar) is the first ingredient listed, i.e. main ingredient. And those Mojos are awesome!

I hoisted bulk boxes of CLIF bars in an Amazon warehouse where I worked for six months. Those things are hefty! Never tried one, though...eating the merchandise was a frowned-upon practice. :D

Lol, I can imagine. They do weigh a lot, which is kind of discouraging if you wanted to use them for every meal or snacks every day. They are nutritious though...and tasty.

I am partial to the chocolate chip bars. The chocolate fudge is really good too, but I'm kind of burned out on them and the peanut butter crunch. There is an apple variety that is pretty good too. But, they all have a strong smell- not a bad smell- and as I do most of my camping and hiking in conjunction with some sort of hunting, I have been leaving the clif bars at home for fear of alerting my prey to my caloric necessities.

I hate cliff bars! blah. I like Bonk bars and soy joy bars. a snickers bar is a little more tasty.
