The blocks from this thread that went to K&G for Stabilizing just arrived this afternoon (9/10) I will get them cleaned up and mailed out right away.
These blocks are old growth Koa from an old family mill in Hawaii. This is some of their best. The wood has been kiln dried to between 6 & 8% moisture content.
At first glance these blocks may seem a bit expensive, They are. This wood cost a lot for me to get, but I am keeping the prices as low as I can. I am cutting the best stuff first. I will be cutting and listing less expensive pieces tomorrow. I left most of these pieces large enough that they should yield 2 handles when making small and medium sized knives.
We are so sure you will love this wood that it comes with a No Questions Asked, Money Back Guarantee.
The wood looks better in person than it does in my crummy photos.
If you would like your blocks cut into scales I can do that at no charge.
If you would like the blocks you get from this thread stabilized, I can send them with my next batch to K&G for an extra $8 each. Turnaround time is about 2 weeks from when they receive them. I will be sending batches to K&G for stabilizing every week or so.
US Shipping is $2.50 for 1 block or free if you get 2 or more. Canada Shipping is $10 for up to 3 blocks. The rest of the world is $12 for up to 3 blocks. My address to make payment through paypal is itsaburl@hotmail.com.
When you decide which blocks you want, just post "I'll take #s ......" and I will mark them sold for you. Be sure to note in your post if you want them stabilized or cut into scales.
