"I'm in" for sure man, and thanks for the great GAW!
Only really had 2 bad experiences with opening a knife personally, and fortunately not traditionals.
Frist one was a cheap (~$15) Gerber knife I got for my dad (yeah, I know, but what he wanted) that was an assisted button lock.
It had a coated blade, and what I didn't realize when I got it was that the coating on the blade was also coating the interface surface where the blade contacted the frame and the locking mechanism...so the first time you tried to open the knife it was like it was going to tear the skin off of my thumb. Realized the probelm pretty fast, and figured I'd already bought it, so I would break it in for my dad and give it to him when it worked...ow ow ow. Bad idea. Lieterally tore the skin of my thumb open before th knife was able to open and close normally. Wore a bandage on my thumb for too long beacause of it though.
Bad part is now it opens perfectly, and it's my dad's EDC for years...and he said recently he may need to get another one...nope.
The other one was just an issue with the maker.
All and all, if that's the only issues I've had opening all of the knives that have gone through my hands, I'm not upset about it
EDIT: I did rememebr having my nail ripped off by an old old Buck knife (I think?) that my grandfather gave me that was handed down forever. I'm not even sure if it was a buck or not really because of how old it was, but man it tore at my nail. Being a stupid kid, I kept trying, and before I knew it, my fingernail was half-seperated from the skin and I was bleeding quite a lot...not a good day at all.
