These are really strange pieces of spalted maple and black oak burl. These blocks were cut and stabilized in a vacuum/pressure chamber using Resinol 90c which is heat treated for maximum durability. There are some really unusual color patterns from the spalting as well as good burl figure all over these blocks. There may still be some small voids that could require minor fills if any fall within your handle area.
