Just thought to let you guys know.

I hate to see the Ocelot go, but figured it would be on the list. The one surprise for me is the Manix. It seemed popular.

Well, looks like I've got two PE Manixes on the way to complement my two CE Manixes. :)

I believe some people have been spreading rumours of a Manix II. Don't think I've heard anything from the company though.

Good thing I grabbed a Mini Manix while I could. What a shame such a great knife is being discontinued.

WTF?!?!?!!?
NO MANIX
I just put down $90 for a Spydie karambit and now I have to go find a Manix :(

This is good to know. Not bad news but rather reason to save for a Manix2:D

Its sad to see the D'Allara Drop point, UK Pen Knife and the Manix go.

Don't worry, the UKPK is being replaced with the Urban. Plus, there's still the Caly 3.

Speaking of the UKPK, what's going to happen to the DKPK?

Arghhhh! I just yesterday put out cash on a bunch of other knife stuff (Leatherman/fenix flashlight/Saks etc) and and now they cancel the Manix?
I was going to order one in the new year.
Yet another Spyderco i almost bought.
:grumpy:

This being said, which of the four is the favored model? Large or mini, plain or combo? I don't have a Manix yet, so it seems time is nigh to remedy that..

Actually, it says the UKPK in black G-10 is being discontinued. Sal mentioned elsewhere that the UKPK will have a new color in the near future. I guess I'll have to buy another one.

As far as the DKPK goes, it looks like it will still be boring black next year ;)

UKPK in black G-10 is very specific for me to. I really like that pen knife and if it is not discontinued completely I hope for a green handle!!!

I can't imagine any form of improvement on the Manix... except for the clip, so if there IS going to be a Manix II, I will eagerly await it to see how Spyderco makes a great knife even better. After a few weeks, took the clip off my Manix and it felt like a major improvement.

To FS216:
At first I felt that CE on the Manix is a waste of blade length (of course, after buying them) but lately I have had times when I was really glad to have CE. I currently own two CE Manixes and will soon have two PE Manixes in my possession. IMHO serrations on any knife are more fragile than a PE just by nature of the design (thin points and chisel ground, so half the edge angle) and the Manix really is a folder meant to see the worst, so PE fits the "nature" of the Manix better. On the other hand it really depends on your tasks so while I will have the choice of both PE or CE, my CE Manix will see the majority of the action simply because they are the only serrations I regularly carry. So while I would generally recommend PE, CE is not at all a bad option.

Never really liked the idea of the Mini-Manix; except for legal considerations it never made sense to downsize a knife meant for the biggest jobs.

Was the DKPK ever a catlog item? My impression, which could be wrong, was that it was more of a Sprint Run type thing.
