Well mangs I just got back from our annual canoe trip. 6 hour trip on the Two Hearted river with moma and some friends. Talk about remote we only saw one other canoe all day. I feel like I live in one of the most beatifull areas in the world.

Mike

damn that sounds like fun!!!!!

Hortonites talk a lot of trash but it takes common sense to make it here!!!!:D[/QUOTE]

u are not going to make me leave then are u
i want to stay i will try to be smarter

Cool Mike! Glad you had a good time

I had a great weekend too. Spent a great weekend with my son. We worked our asses off with chain saws, axes, weed eaters, and muscle - Our clothes were drenched yesterday from working 3 hours in pouring ass rain, and today from trying to make the up time we lost yesterday.

It's pretty damn cool considering it's a 180 from a year ago:thumbup:

Used my Horton today to devein and clean 10lbs of wild caught White Georgia Shrimp. The cold winter caused the numbers to be down this year but the size is up. Had some awesome 21/25 count fried shrimp for dinner. If Jeremy ever has a get together I have the shrimp and chicken covered. Jeremy what say you????

Like having a epic high end sports car and going only as fast as the posted speed limit.

besides, I hear fly shit is corrosive:eek:

Busse forum - the get bent out of shape if a fly lands on their satin safe queens lol....

Did I miss anything particular? Or are you talking about the shot Mistress & Jack?

Seriously, I think the satin finish is quite suitable for a user knife. Now the damned double cut finish looks nice but is vulnerable as hell, good just for a safe queen, imho...

Both finishes are fine, though your right that the microscopic pores on a bead blasted finish is probably more prone to surface corrosion. I wash my knives after use and put a thin coat of mineral oil on them and everything is all good. No issues at all with my Hortons.

Filip, I think most people here would agree both Jeremy and Jerry make quality knives. Their forums are radically different IMO though. I've never had 5 people email me saying "I agree with you on what you posted, but I was afraid to say so on the thread." here. Everyone here is unique and it makes the whole greater than the sum of the parts.

Nice! I need to get to whole foods. Are the prices up?

Did you use the Fry Daddy? :D

You're lucky - or I'm very unlucky. I sweat acid or something steel-toxic, anything that's not pure stainless (like 154CM) rusts after an hour of me handling or even just carrying it... :grumpy:

 I'd never think of such a thing to happen in any forum at BFC. Guess I was wrong. I really don't get this.

Don't shoot knives,,, I will leave it at that,,

I don't care what TacBlade or generally aonyone does to / with his knives, it's entirely their business, not mine. I wrote three emotion-free posts on this topic figuring out obvious facts, to which no-one really responded. I guess if I wrote it's cool /or dumb or whatever/ to shoot a knife, I'd probably get more attention... not saying I wanted any ;)

we also dont judge!!!! :thumbup::D

Hell, I do. I've been arguing against this whole silly business since it came up, but the Busse forum seems to have been taken over by a bunch of fifteen-year-olds. Lately, I've tried posting there once again, but I think I'm about done with it. Once again.

The double cut (bead blast) finish is good if you treat it. The pores, just like the ones on a Remington Express shotgun, are quite good at holding rust preventatives like Tuf-Glide, CLP, RemOil, etc.

And fly shit is highly corrosive and to be feared.
