i've used a blackhawk riggers belt at work for the last 5 years. It has worked great and is nowhere near needing replaced.

great pics mike. looks like you guys had an awesome time. makes me want to go fishing :)

Hey man, while you're on belts, can you recommend a good nylon belt for strong-side carry? I've been eyeing the Wilderness Instructor's belt, but I also see that Bianchi makes a nylon belt that gets pretty good reviews.

I'm also looking for a good nylon (preferably) thumb-break holster for a S&W 686 wheel gun. Is Bianchi the best option here? Or are there better options?

hey guyon good to "see" you!! you are spot-on with the wilderness instructor belt, they are top-notch. as far as holsters go, I gave up on nylon, because they just seemed too bulky for me. here's a pic of me instructing a few weeks ago wearing a NTAC kydex holster and my glock 21 w/light. it rides very close to the body and has great retention. you get a reassuring "click" when you holster the weapon and i've hung upside down, run, jumped, etc with this on and never had a problem with weapon retention. you can also throw a jacket or long shirt over it and it doesn't print at all. They can make the holster for any gun or gun/light combination, which is awesome. raven concealment holsters are very similar, but the lead time is significantly longer(3 months). if it's nylon that you want though, you can't go wrong with bianchi. they make very nice products.

First off... Daaayum! Was that a private lesson? And does Mama know? :p

Second, thanks. You also answered a question that I've had about holsters for gun/light combos. I have a Streamlight TLR-1s on a Glock 19 and would like a holster that can handle both.

Third, is that Wilderness the 1.5" or the 1.75" wide?

Yeah momma knows and she wasn't thrilled :). For duty gun/light holsters(belt and thigh rigs) I wear safariland. They are great when you don't worry about bulk/concealment, but these kydex are much better for off-duty use. The belt I'm wearing in the pic is the blackhawk rigger. I think its 1.75, but I'm not sure.

Ps check the firearms thread, there are some vids of her shooting my machine guns in a bikini ;)

Rlarge are you also a firearms instructor? I am a master firearms trainer for our department. Friday we have our ERT team training and I am putting them through advanced weapons drills with the Glock, mini 14 and 870. Should be a great day of fun!
