hey guys, I have a unique opportunity to go to Coeur d'Alene Idaho. Some guys are going to fly me out there for a private training session. for those that have been there, what kind of stuff will I need? bug repellant, etc?

Shoot Scott Lind an email or a private message. He runs the Busse Company Store and goes by idahoskunk here at Bladeforums. He does quite a lot of stuff (hunting, fishing, rafting, ATV'ing) outdoors there in Idaho and can give you good insight.

Chibbi Great pictures of you and the kids. Enjoy them as much as you can they grow up way too fast. Seems like yesterday mine were that small now they are 28,24 and 17.I think I am suffering more from the empty nest syndrom than my wife is.

You won't need anything you don't have already for outdoor activity. The horse flys get a little pesky this time of year but they aren't out of control, someone posted here about bug repellent that works with horse flys. It will be in the mid 50s at night and not as hot as where you are now during the day. We used to run the Salmon river all day and just have sweatshirts on at night, no tents.
If you can get a break at the end of your training head south a couple of hours and run the Salmon, you will never forget the experience.
The local yocals will hook you up. Also, it's higher and dryer than where you are and dehydration sort of sneaks up on a person as your sweat evaporates quickly in the dry air, so, keep up with the water.

I'll second this. I wouldn't go anywhere NEAR Idaho without a little Skunk-ish advice!:eek::D:);)

Probably not with me. I think I'm considered bad luck. :p

I thought they were gonna dress you up this year
in corn feed ghillie suit and let
you creep around in the field for a week prior
to the shoot?

guess they can use aa11bn,
he's fresh outta the military and use
to following orders.

This MMA fight is in Chicago the weekend of the knife show. I don't know much about MMA, are any of these guys worth seeing. Tickets are between $50-$200 with the $200 ones being a ringside table with free top shelf booze.

After months of cajoling and even threats from the federales all it took for me to try out a chisel edge from Jeremy was the generous offer from Bryan to send the famous/infamous SPDR for me to test. This knife feels awesome in hand and I love the overall heft of it. Is the carbon fiber a little heavier than most handle material? I love it either way. For comparison I absconded with the tenders from about 40 chickens to test with. I compared my .33 A2 BDEC,my .22 A2 necker, and my .15 3V necker all with standard convex Platinum Edges. Here are the results below. All went through the chicken with no effort.

I then tested the SPDR and it took a little getting used too but I am now convinced I think, possibly, maybe I would love a chisel convex Platinum Edge. Thanks Bryan and Jeremy. The results of the SPDR test are below.

Great review Pluck, thanks for sharing your thoughts and posting the pics. The last pic is great, Rolf would be honored.

What's this last one knife again, please? I like it.

It is the SPDR. It is chisel ground with a convex edge. It has a relatively thick blade (but still razor sharp) that makes it a good all around EDC/outdoor knife. I've used it for everything from battoning small logs to cutting up veggies for a salad.
