Has anyone noticed there are two threads about 2 different knives getting large chips out of the blade. One while batoning and the other while trying to cut a 3 inch green sapling. Glad I never have to worry about that with any of my knives and I use them hard.

Must have been non-Horton knives :D

^ Fo sho.
It's cold and rainy here, too. Actually, it's rained for two days straight here. I'm starting to worry about my job, it seems I've bitten off more than I can chew. I feel being dumb.

Just hang in there, Filip. I think most people feel a bit dumb at the start of a new job,,, I know the feeling from whenever I start a new post and there are these unfamiliar procedures to follow and still unknown alarms and stuff,,, you'll get the hang of it after a while and it'll become work as usual in no time,,,

ps: when in doubt, act as if you know what you're doing,,, works for me :D

Good afternon everyone. Been MIA for a few days. Hope everyone is doing alright. Hang in there Filip. My condolences Carto. Ron you have been dealing a few Hortons lately I see. I am pretty set right now and money is a little tight. Probably wont be buying anything for a while unless ammo goes on sale. =]

Thanks guys.
BBT, I've already stunned everyone with my ability to work long hours. The problem is, with all that overtime I'm not able to deliver the desired results. I'm trying my best, but see it's not enough, still.
Anyway, I'm not whining, just saying what's on my mind these days. I'm the "play it safe", "be prepared" and "always have a backup plan" kinda bloke, so I already started loooking for a backup job if I really fail in this one. Not a good sign, I know, but I try to be realistic - the boss is not happy.
I've read a remakable quote recently: "Work is such a big part of man's life that he'd better be happy with it". It really got me thinking.

I know most of you face much harder problems... It's just I didn't post much lately and I think I wanted to share, although I haven't thought about knives much now... well, a bit yes, actually - I resharpened my current EDC tonight, it was relaxing

Hang in there Filip. Good times are sure to be ahead. What BBT said has always kept me employed.

Been cool and rainy here too and I'm loving it! Beats the typical heat and knocked the dust out of the air.

I dont like rain, I dont like cold at the same time.
Just humid is good for me, like in Panama, that is nice weather.

Hang in there Filip.

The best way to get your self a break, its to shoot something. Nice to know you got the family our for some shooting J. Clears the mind.

Morning. Battoning can mess up anyones blade. Especially if its ground really thin. Or especially any type of hollow grind

Every job has the right tool. I batton with my S7 Pepperized Horton with a convex grind. Zero issues. I think the RC is around 56-57 which makes it really easy to keep sharp in the field.

I have some harder hollow ground Hortons that I use in the kitchen and are fantastic slicers.

.... and I have the Fugbar

Yeah, I probably should have been holding a Horton when I did that video and probably should of had a cup of coffee first. It is an old video though, pre-countertops.

:D
