I refinished the VZ-58 handguard.

I used to look like this - wood chip resin impregnanted aka beaver barf as what we call it here....

First time I refinished anything wood - sanded / stained and poly coated...I got another set to try...
 
@Filip: momma's back home,,, BUT, she's seeing a therapist now 'cause she's really messed up mentally,,, this doesn't mean I'm in the clear yet,,, and I had to get rid of my dog 'cause it brought to much stress for the missuss,,, found a really good home for her, a co-worker of my best friend, so I'll get regular updates on her, but it hasn't been a lot of fun 'round here,,, at least momma is working on it and I'm tip-toeing and doing my part,,, it'll take time and persistence, but I'm not known for giving up easily *fingers crossed*,,, thanks for asking :)

Dog...........wife...........would be a hard choice.........love is unconditional. You take the good with the bad........sorry you had to give up your dog...Hopefully you can get the dog back once the waters clear and your path is more certain.......

My dogs are like my children, no money can buy them and you better not harm them.........i will take your life.
 
@Carto: I made the choice 'cause it was better for the dog,,, another impulse buy from momma,,, was supposed to be for my oldest boy, but he showed interest in it for about 2 days (not his fault, he suffers from ADHD),,, I told them when they wanted to buy the dog that I didn't have time for a dog and that it was a huge mistake,,, I know how much time and patience it takes to properly raise a dog 'cause I've had dogs on and off all of my life,,, momma nor the boy have patience with anything,,, the last few weeks nobody was walking the dog and she craved attention,,, looked 'till I found someone good to take better care of her,,, and it's truly a great dog,,, not a smidge of aggression in her,,, obeyed actually rather very good without having been to dog school or the likes, just me teaching her the basic when I found time to take her for a walk,,, ah well, all for the greater good I suppose,,,

Chibbi, my fingers are still crossed firmly. I hope it works out and you'll be able to have a dog again. Sometimes I miss one, too, remembering the awesome one I raised when I attended school yet... Good you found her a nice home :thumbup: Maybe momma would be thankful for you not giving up once this is over... Hang on.

Btw. I'm listening to David Bowie right now. Couldn't help it :D

Fugawee, I got the flu vaccine today + it's cold & raining, so I decided to stay indoors today :o

Good on you finding the pup a good home, Chibs. Like Carto, though, my dogs are second only to my kids. If my dog didnt like my wife, I'm pretty sure I'd be single. Fortunately... He's a big mommas boy...

I like the Eagle A3,my son has it,
its 2500cu. Thats a little too big for me.
I looked at the Maxped FalconII @ 1500 cu
and that seems like about the size I want.
Anyone familiar with SO Tech?
They have a Micro mission bag that looks like
something I could use.... maybe a little bit too small though

Hey Fug if Carto can't hook you up, I recommend a TAD FAST Pack. Unfortunately, they just sold out of their 5th gen they came out with this month. I carry a 3rd gen. It is a great day pack but I use it for 2 and even 3 days.:D Also has a beavertail and straps for carrying a rifle. Found one on ebay for you here. This is exactly what I have. Good hunting.
