Question for you knuckleheads. I know there are countless flashlight options available in recent years and I have a Surefire 6P with a Malkoff dropin and it is very serviceable. I also have these 2
3D cell Maglights laying around and was wondering if any of you have done the Malkoff upgrade on one?
 
cant help with the flashlights,but
how did the hunting go?

Ive never been hunting.
Never killed anything other than a rat.
Would like to go once,but Im not sure
I could pull the trigger on a deer. Maybe a hog I could shoot.
Gutting it would prolly be a challenge for me too,
I faint when I get a shot. :eek:

Didnt have any luck Fug but I did survive. LOL Saw lots of does but no bucks.

Keith, Gene Malkoff made a YouTube video comparing a few of his lights. I'm on my cell now, but I'll post it in the morning (don't know how from phone). BTW, nothing good can come from holding Carto's sack.
 
My opinion on the maglites is to let them go, unless you love the form factor. You can get similar performance in a pocket sized light.

Agreed man,

If you are going to keep the Maglites in service, the Malkoff upgrades are an excellent choice.

The problem with the Maglites is the alkaline batteries. They have very limited potential.

Today we can get 1000+ lumens from a light the size of your Surefire.
 
The Triples are awesome. I'm afraid to ask what the special XML is. I have one of the 2400+ lumen M6s that Moddoo/Oveready built though and it is a crazy thrower.
